I wonder which recycled halftime show we'll see this weekend.

I would like to see you try and write the music, the drill and teach all this for 325 kids in three days.

In fact, its actually pretty common for them to learn other school's songs as a sing of respect. Especially during hard times.
I remember Notre Dame marching down Canal playing the LSU fight song for the Sugar Bowl in 2007.

Then we crushed them

i remember the only thing Notre Dame that didnt quit during that beat down was their band. They really played until the ship sank.

Didn't we do something like this for Virginia Tech in 2007?

I don't know the words to USCe's fight song, but living in South Carolina, I know the tune very well.

Why make them go to a game 8 hours away for a game that half of them don't care about?

While half of them probably don't care about the outcome of the game, something tells me the band members find ways to entertain themselves on road trips.

USC's band actually plays Neck, so there is the LSU Band's excuse.

I would like to see you use the Oxford comma.

I can't remember if the band did, but there were military sky divers that dropped onto the field with flags before the game.

That is unnecessary when the meaning doesn't change with or without it.

When the GBFTL makes the USCe trip, it's only a 45 person pep band, never full band trip, so I really doubt that SC is bringing their full band here, esp on short notice

Does USC's band know of Latin Flair?

It's really not. Bands are pretty chummy like that. In

Just recently another school (can't remember details) spelled out LSU on their practice field to honor a deceased LSU band person.

Or I had a weird dream.

I know our fans would be ecstatic if another band did that for us in similar circumstances. I think it's great.

As long as they don't play the USC fight song if/when they score.

It's like the debate about adding two spaces after a period when starting a new sentence. One method is more correct depending on the style of writing you are using. However, I maintain that the oxford comma, and even the double space bar create a more pleasant reading experience.

Regardless, I'm just using this as an excuse to procrastinate.

25-30 years ago it wasn't uncommon for an opposing visiting band to play the other school's fight song to show respect for the home team. Even though this situation is reversed it's still a classy move by the TigerBand.
