FYI, I can't help much, but that area is worse than the quarter. Stay safe, and be vigilant.

No, it's not. Memphis, as a whole, is terrible, but Beale Street is one of the most heavily policed areas in town.. Just avoid the surrounding neighborhoods.

There aren't a lot of Sports-centric bars on Beale, but you would probably have a good experience at The Flying Saucer, just off Beale, across from the Peabody.

Lived in Memphis for 4 yrs and Beale St. is definitely much safer than anywhere around the Quarter. Now, if you go a little south of Beale, it gets a good bit shadier, but I always felt much safer on Beale than I have anytime on Bourbon St. I'd probably hit the Pinch area if I were trying to watch the LSU game.

I grew up in Memphis and live in French quarter and can tell u that bourbon is def safer. The surrounding areas not actually on bourbon are very dangerous tho so don't wander.

As far as bar, silkys and bardog are my two favorites

Silkys has what, one TV? Great place to hang out, not so great place to watch a football game.

Fla St vs Other Tigers at the same time. Start at Bar Dog on Monroe, about 3 blocks from Beale off Main. Gastropub, cool bar. Then, if people bitch and turn the other game on, go back towards Beale and watch it at Flying Saucer, if that's no good for you, walk 3o yards away to the Silly Goose.. no, it's not a gay bar.

Silly Goose is a good choice in regards to scenary of the opposite sex!

Do your victory dance with a 40 at Raffords! That place gets wild on Saturday nights. They only take cash and their ATMS charge $10 fees so be prepared.
