Going into season looking at the September schedule

Of Clemson, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, consensus was finishing 3-1 in September while breaking in a brand new roster would be a success.
Beat A&M (very doable) and season is still on schedule to be a success. LFG!

Kentucky and MSU are not easy wins, but they are still very winnable.
Not like those squads are UT or Bama level talents.
They have put together some impressive offensive numbers, but with good plans we can beat those teams by 7-10 points.
Nothing in the SEC is a given. This has been the norm for decades.

If you took off the purple and gold glasses 2-2 was not a crazy prediction we could be potentially be in come October. Still stands. But 3-1 is also very possible.

Kentucky and Moo State playing well will make those wins even more meaningful in the committees eyes.

yes but Kentucky on the road and at Tenn is going to be tough unless we have a passing game. Pate said it best IMO, 8-4 to 12-0. I am still hoping for at least a 9-3 season and I think we still have a chance to go 11-1.

If Blake Baker can’t get this defense to stop a Joe Sloan offense, this team has much bigger problems than not making the playoffs.

I think most of us would have said 3 and 1 would be "okay" considering the schedule. The problem is at 2 and 1 , for the most part, we haven't looked very good. Defense was really bad 1st half of Ole Miss and our quarterback play is at best, run of the mill.

BUT The Rantards say the season is over because we lost one game on the road to a Heisman candidate QB!!
