Not true. ECU grad here.
When I was in college, we broke the record for most fans in attendance at a college baseball game in NC (this was a regular season game, but I’m pretty sure record has been broken)
Greenville is all about baseball in general. Had a team in little league World Series recently also

He’s from eastern NC also…about 30-45 minutes from Greenville. So it’s truly his home, but who knows…LSU baseball is a different animal

Yes, he would. But, it sounds like ECU is preparing to make some adjustments to his pay to keep him in place - so the leverage now swings back into his court.

At times I think it would be beneficial for schools like ECU or La Tech to not host a regional and be one of the best 2 seeds as an easier path to Omaha. Rather than being a 15/16 seed and having to travel to a 1/2 seed in the supers.
For places like that just getting to Omaha would do wonders for those programs and I would push for the easier route rather than being able to tout they hosted a regional.

Of the choices reportedly available at this time, I like Godwin the best.
