I would be much more worried if we were facing borderline high school pitchers. Our team seems to forget how to hit those guys. I think we will be just fine this weekend.

I look for our guys to be dialed in against these arms just like they would be against Florida or Vandy. I like our chances.

If poche keeps pitching like last outing, we have 2 guys that can beat anyone. And I actually like our whole staff as our third guy. Latz needs to be brought in as a reliever though.

Latz will be our Chad Jones this year. He'll step in at a huge moment and mow em down.

I hope so. He was struggling with control last game, but I'm hoping it was just nerves.

I can't pretend (like you) that it is better that the opening game pitcher only had one bad outing all season.

the best I can make of it is that we will see a future MLB pitcher while he is still young.

This is really confusing, Celtic... are you talking about Alex Cunningham or Beckwith? Because Cunningham is pitching the opening game, and he has had way more than 1 bad start. Beckwith is a very good pitcher, but has only started a handful of games. Not sure where you're going with this post, buddy.

Why? They've started him several times with good success. The guy hasn't really pitched in two years. He's going to have some off days until he relearns how to regain control. That will happen whether you start him or bring him on in relief. Dunn has good reasons for starting him.
