If we fall on our faces in Dallas is there any reason not to just hand over the reigns to ZM and take our lumps this season? I would prefer he get the game experience rather than milking out a 2 loss season with Bama so strong this year.

You make it sound as if we should just concede the sec if we lose because bama is "so strong". That, for one, is debatable. Bama is no stronger than LSU. They both have the same issue.

No we take our lumps like I said in the OP. The future behind ZM is SR.

If Jefferson hadn't been suspended, would you still have made this thread?

Yes actually I probably would have. There is no reason to leave a "senior" QB in for the rest of the season if our title shot is blown after the first game of the season. Other than CLM being stubborn as hell.

Did you have some amazing faith that he had really become a great QB overnight and learned how to be a "leader"?

No one is expecting a sophomore QB to be a leader that is what other more experienced guys on the team's role is. All he needs to do is make good decisions and put the ball on the money to his receivers.

Don't throw away a season before it begins just because you read on a message board how great this guy is. He hasn't played a down yet and you think he should start.

Neither did Cam Newton before last season it is basically the same situation.

You still would have a lot to play for. Miles is not going to dismiss the season due to one loss, and he would be correct in doing so.

How do some of y'all even think like that.

Some people aparently don't remember last season, when Jordan Jefferson went 7 games without a TD pass - and JLee was brought in the rotation so we wouldn't 'fall on our face' while JJ was "getting out of his slump." Honestly, if you think that LSU is that hurt (if hurt at all really) by J.Lee being the starter -- then you have not kept up with LSU football and your knowledge comes from one of a few bias's that i do not wish to discuss at this time.

OP is definition of ranter

The whole season is pointless if we lose the first game.

Disappointed in a possible 2 loss season

Backup QB with no experience is the savior

If we lose to oregon should we play a team completly of underclassmen since they are the future? Lets just kick every senior off the team if we lose to the ducks

This would, of course, apply to any other senior who has a marginal game vs. Oregon right?

a 2 loss season in the toughest division much less conference in all of the ncaa is not mediocre. As last year showed us, it still results in a top 10 finish (or a BCS NC like 2007) - so 120 teams, top 10 finish = better than top 10% finish.

Yeah, mediocre.

Anything less than a SEC championship and a BCS championship is mediocre in my mind.

I hate fair-weather fans like this, who obviously have no understanding of what it takes to make a successful team year in and year out.....who clearly have little to no knowledge of football except for the tidbits which they've gleaned while slouching in their armchair, listening to Verne and continually bashing their coach and players for making mistakes or, even worse, decisions that are clearly at odds with their own vast knowledge of the game.

So, basically, each year only two teams out of 120 have a season that is better than mediocre. Actually, lately, only one team, as the SEC Champ is also the Natl Champ. What a crock of BS. I can only imagine the number of things you've given up on throughout your life, just because you didn't have immediate success, or failed in the beginning.

People who talk ridiculous smack like this are the ones who have never really trained hard and competed in sports.....they're the same ones who bragged endlessly about their "Most Improved" trophy they got in 3rd grade, but expect nothing less than perfection from others when they're sitting behind a computer screen wiping Cheetos off the front of their shirt.

LSU can do without fans like that.......They're nothing more than an embarrassment.

Umm, I would imagine the seniors this year would take issue with mailing it in after one game. There is one reason, now GTFO.
