IMOP i would have either put Ott in an inning early or stuck with Ranauldo for three more outs before putting Bertuccini in...obviously, it turned out that Bertuccini wasn't our best option last night since he performed absolutely horribly...thank Christ our hitters woke up and saved us from losing...i think Mainieri could have called on any one of our other pitchers and they probably would have done better than Bertuccini last night.

i have no problem putting bertuccini in last night

i have a problem with keeping him in after throwing 4 straight balls, then 4 straight balls again, then giving up a warning track fly ball for a run, then giving up a 3 run bomb

DBG, you're right...i was praying coach would put someone else in after he walked the first guy on four straight pitches...should have had a much shorter leash....after saying all of this, i do believe we have a top tier coach in Paul Mainieri and i feel bad about critiqing him...sorry my spelling sucks

At what point would you have pulled him? And, who would you have replaced him with.

Most of the people bitching about a 20 year old kid on here haven't done a damned thing in their life.
