Most of the rant would have been crying that we should fire Saban after he lost to UAB during his first season.

I got in a discussion about this over the summer with my family, who represent several other schools (Navy, Auburn, Notre Dame, Georgia). Their consensus was that LSU would fire Lane in a couple of years for his clownish ways not turning into results.

My position was that while, yes, Lane needs to improve certain things about game management, he has at least 4 years to get us to a national semifinal. After all, we didn't let Brian Kelly go until he was out of the playoff in his fourth year.

I stand by that, and I think Verge (and the money people) will give him that. The recent silliness with the SEC leadership solidified the support of the administration. Getting sued over fake outrage tends to make people circle the wagons.

This year's team could easily lose 4 games and draw the ridicule of plenty of college football fans. But, who cares? Lane is more open about everything going on around him and they don't know how to handle it. The train is coming for them.

I don’t even know why that conversation is even coming up. We just almost beat a top 10 team at their house. A top 4 from last year, and they are currently at top 4 team right now. This was a great game for us. I am shocked that people are refusing to see it.

It doesn’t matter. They will at some point.

You say that but the first caller during the post game show said “ give his money and let’s get a real coach”. Hanny hung up before he said anything else and my dad and I looked at each other and said that is crazy as we drove back from Baton Rouge.
