That dude is a mean SOB. He can definitely make all the blocks when he's in at FB. Has anyone besides myself noticed him when he's in there? He will create a lane. I love having dependable backups. Something that doesn't get mentioned or recognized too often. He'll get the starting gig when he's a senior, and it'll be earned.

Who's the last walk-on to play for LSU and start?

James Stampley last year? Didn't he start as a walk-on?

And yes, Conner has stepped up when asked to go in when Copeland needs a break.

Connor has made some crushing blocks. Many times the sound has been incredible. Keep it up boy.

Maybe so, I just assumed it was JC Copeland all year. Hell, I don't even remember who started at FB in 2010. I think it was a bunch of walk-on's now that I'm thinking about it.

I guess I was wondering about a walk-on who became the undisputed starter for a full season.

Doesn't/didn't his brother play for bama?

And yes, I never thought he was even going to see snaps on offense and he stepped up big time when needed.

He had a great push out block to let Ford get the edge for the touchdown last week.

His whole family.

Neighbors has been really good this year. You can hear everytime he hits somebody, plus he's a very sound blocker, not just about the pop.

I find that Copeland hits hard but stops moving his feet.

He was a party animal his first two years at LSU. He pretty much stopped drinking and going out because he wanted to contribute. He has definitely done that this year Now if only Jarvis and Odell had that attitude and would stop going to Reggie's and Bogies every chance they get.

Neighbors is real good. Not much of a drop off when J.C. is not on the field.

I like watching this gump clear some lanes.

Especially with 44 getting nicked up.

Connor Neighbor's grandfather was an All America at bama in the early 60s.

I think his dad, an uncle and others have played for bama.

Funny you mention it. I noticed him last week and made a comment to bro in law how I thought he looked really good.

His grandfather, Billy (RIP), played for Coach Bryant.

His Dad and Uncle both played at UA.

His brother played at UA, and I think is now a graduate assistant.

Coach Bryant had some great OL play for him. John Hannah is likely the best. Where does Billy Neighbors line up?

Other great OLs include:

Paul Crane
Sylvestor Croom
Dwight Stewphenson
