I'm not trying to be negative but we all need to slow down. There has been only two grad transfers that have really worked: Jake Coker and Russell Wilson. Coker had a tremendous team and needed to only keep from screwing it up. Wilson is a once in a generation talent.

Yeah, but Orgeron told Burrow, I need you to watch the tape of our Spring Game, after which they shook hands and Burrow said, "i'll be back."

You damn right! Burrow quickly saw that trainwreck.

Wink and a nod to Burrow. The job is his unless he gets hurt or falls flat on his face. If he admitted he gave Burrow the job, He knows the other QB would probably transfer.

Which one of them won the Heisman? It was the #1 draft pick?

Only GG would trust something Orgeron says and then act like he’s breaking some new information.
I don’t trust either one of them.

If Brennan out performs Burrows in the fall he will get the start. I doubt that occurs.
Regardless, LSU is in better shape at the most important position on the field than we were after the spring.

Does Orgeron know who Gilbeau is? He should punch him in the mouth

Orgeron: I don't guarantee you start, but I guarantee you no qb on the team is close to your ability.

So if GG said he didn’t, does that mean he actually did?

If I’m not mistaken. He named Brent Schaffer his starting quarterback before he arrived on campus.

I don't think anyone would assume he was guaranteed or promised he would start but he was obviously shown our depth chart which both he and orgeron know is the most talented of the current QB's.

So it never had to be verbalized that he would be the starter it is just a given considering the talent levels of the players involved.

He never would have transferred to a school where he wasn't the most talented quarterback and wouldn't win the starting job

It seems that some here are implying that he was told that he would start which obviously he would never be told that

exactly/ Orgeron is not going to tell Guilbeau one way or the other. Guilbeau is just stating what everyone already knows as though he is bringing a scoop. Neither Orgeron or any other coach is going to make a promise like that in a situation like this one. You just show him the depth chart and the spring game and explain how badly we need a QB of his talent on our team and what he can do for our team in the type offense we will be running.

If someone told me I would get Burrow for 2 years but have to lose McMillan and Narcisse in the process I’d take that deal 10/10 times.

I don’t think the avaerage LSU fan realizes how good he will be.

The “just a run of the mill transfer” does not apply here.

Burrow is the most seasoned qb we have right now. He is older and 3 years at OSU and a college coach for a Dad goes a long way.
