It all goes back to the individual(s) in charge. The head coach sets the team culture. Period. He hires assistants to further galvanize the culture he wants. He recruits players who fit into his team culture and team’s needs.
What you see at LSU is a representation of O. It has a glance of talent but once you give it a good look, there are huge holes in talent and there is no identity or culture to the team as a whole or any of its individual units. Just a mish mash of high rated players at some positions and no talent at others.

May get interesting to see how Woodward handles the departures. Could go into the decision making process of who he hires. He may need to get a guy who is not currently coaching that can come in mid season, not to coach, but to establish a presence to keep pieces together and start recruiting.
