I guess my point is it used to be full for all of the conference games, and if we are blowing them out...maybe some people would start to file out halfway thru the 4th.
It hasn't been like that for almost 10 years.

Make the "ONCE infamous south end zone". It is no more.
After half, especially, it is daid.
Snuffed.
Deceased.
No more.
Perished.
Cashed in it's chips.

The game experience in TS sucks today.
There are bright arse lights flashing, crappy music, EXPENSIVE F&D's and a 4 hour game. It looks more like a casino or Disney attraction than a college football stadium.
In the 80's and 90's, we could leave Lafayette at noon or later and park on the lawn at Locket. Now, the whole experience is a damn shite show from parking to post game traffic. The more the powers at be get involved, the worse it gets.

I am just looking for reasons for why this happened?
Did people just get tired of going?
Did LSU win too many games?
LSU could win the college football playoff this year, and I promise the stadium would still be half empty at half time for 6 of the 8 home games.

I'm honestly getting tired of it.
Let's assume you want a decent parking spot that's not in a paid lot. You have to be on campus before noon of any major game. With a 6pm kick time, you are not leaving campus until after 10pm. Then, you get to wait 2 hours in traffic just trying to get off campus. Now, you have put in 12 hours of being on campus for a game. frick that.
Post game traffic needs to be cleared up. I don't know how to do it, but it needs to be fixed.

You can go back and read quotes from Southern Cal players who came to Tiger Stadium in the 70's and the fear they admit to feeling playing here.
I read a few of those quotes. It's amazing the respect they had for Tiger Stadium and the fans.

I somewhat understand the "parking" or "traffic" argument.
Where do the students park?
The students must have some terrible spots to park in...why else would you leave in the 2nd quarter?

Fred's

Honestly though, this is a problem all universities and professional sports are facing. Watching the game at home is fantastic. You have all the F&D you want, a clean bathroom, A/C, the best seat in the house, etc. Major sporting events are going to have to make a change. They are trying to make a "better fan experience," but in reality, they need to just get out the way. Let the band play, stop flashing those damn bright lights, speed up the game in between turnovers. We don;t need a 2:30min commercial between every turnover of possession.

I love that you're fixated on the students when they make up like 20% of the stadium. Their supposed leaving early doesn't explain why the rest of the stadium is a ghost town.

who wants to sit in a half empty stadium?
Me. I’d much rather be the only fricker in there than sit in a huge crowd. frick crowds.

Yet another “the fans are leaving! The fans are leaving!” thread, from a poster with around 200 posts.
Suspicious? Nah.....

Tradition, which in some respects was unlike that practiced anywhere else in the world, got run over by "business".
With little respect for the traditions that made LSU football unique, Joe Alleva sold us out to the entertainment industry and to the highest dollar bidder for each potential profit center.
We can debate whether corporations are "people", but you have to agree they are NOT reliable, enthusiastic and emotional FANS.

Its screwed up that everyone is forced to the river side of campus. Traffic was better when there wasn't all the parking restrictions and people could tailgate where ever they wanted. They are forcing the crowd off campus it seems.

HA HA...if you hate crowds...then why in the world would you go to a college football game?

This looks really bad on TV, the people who leave at half need to give their tix up. Not true fans.

I guess I am fixated on the student section leaving because it's their time. You only get to be a student on campus for a very short time of your life.
The average 19 year old LSU student...attending a game where his team is ranked 6th in the country...should be more excited about LSU than a 40 year old who wants to take his 12 year old to a game.
If the students don't care about being there...why should anyone else want to be?
