The SEC as a whole is loaded with coaching talent... Gonna be a beast of a league if everyone gets going. Just thinking off the top of my head:

Cal
Wade
Barnes
Pearl
Drew
Crean
Martin (x2)
Davis

Georgia was clearly better coached, but LSU won and the LSU players obviously played the better game.

Considering Wade lambasted his team's performance after a 10 point win and said he was embarrassed by it, I think he knows there are glaring weaknesses and plans to address them. He's not one to shy away from the truth of his team and I think saying that he was outcoached is a stretch.

Before last night, the defense had been really good for basically an entire month... So to say the improvement is sporadic is just not true, they had an off night last night...

I don't know if I'd say that's completely true. From late Dec. into the first 2 games of SEC play the defensive efficiency ranking hovered between 85-95. Then they played to outstanding defensive games vs. OM and USC, and that number dropped from 85 to 65. After last night it's back up to 75.

Certainly last night could just be a bad night. I think we all hope that was the case. However, I think the numbers showed they've had more below avg. defensive games than above-avg games. That's why last night was so disappointing defensively. They regressed back to the mean after back to back great nights.

So I guess the reasonable question going forward is: Was last night the aberration or was last week the aberration?

That's laughable. Georgia made contested 3's. If they are anywhere close to their season average we win by 20. Did we make major mistakes on D inside? Yes. Did we play our best? No. But Georgia didn't just out scheme us and Georgia gave up 90 POINTS. That's great defensive coaching by the UGA staff I tell ya.

I mentioned at the game last night that because of the mental break downs on the court the game never felt as lopsided as it was... I mean we're talking a game that was a 17 point spread about half way through the 2nd half

You must be a Johnny Jones, Trent Johnson, and John Brady fan.I see a win and current 5-0 SEC record. Not sure what you are seeing.

You see what you want to see

I saw a defensive lapse when it was clear we were going to win.

Wade will correct. I didn’t understand why Williams didn’t get more minutes. But it was probably to develop Day

Yes, we used the UGA game to develop players.

LSU is lucky that LSU has had some great recruiting and has the players with the talent to override coaching issues. The coaching continues to improve. If the level of play keeps up, this will be a great year for LSU.

Please be as specific as possible. What coaching issues do you see? I see some execution issues and some breakdowns on defense but I think that was more of an exception because we've been playing better D. LSU was up 17 last night and just kinda coasted from there.

Recruiting is part of coaching

Putting those talented guys in position to be successful is part of coaching

Keeping those talented players focused against lesser teams and winning games they need to win is part of coaching

That's his thing. He's been trolling about Will Wade since day 1.

This is possibly the dumbest statement I have seen on this board. WOW!

I give Wade an A on the first one, and he is working on an A on the second. He needs to work some on the third.

I listened to a great radio broadcast that talked about how college basketball focuses on the coaches because the players only stay around a year or two.

I don't dislike Wade at all. LSU is having a great year so far (and, when there was a hiccup or two early in the season, I came to his defense). This time of the year is when LSU needs to play at its peak, and it seems that is happening.

ETA: Then again, maybe Wade's coaching style is "I'm not the best on X's and O's, but I'll have the team fired up and ready to play." Whatever it is, his team is winning so you really cannot complain.
