Do I need to pull up all the post from the past where people are bashing USC, UF, OU for running up scores passing the ball and running trick plays?

You have to learn how to separate the idiots from the real football fans. Don't put all LSU fans in the broad category of whiners that are always vocal after something bad happens. I sure as hell wasn't because Meyer's team put up that many against us.

Like I said, anybody that complains about an arse whipping is just a poor loser.

Anyway, is anybody upset at Miles for the fake punt? Come on you haters - I know you can't pass up the chance to ridicule him.

Not at all, nor was I upset at the onside kickoff. Like Spurrier used to say, "just an ole ball coach calling plays here, that's all."

What fake punt GT Fans should be upset over is their own fake so close to their own end zone, basically handing LSU points on a silver platter. NOW THAT was flippin CRAZY. I still can't believe they tried it. I was shocked.

what was the game i think last year where we also ran a fake punt deep in our territory ? It worked, but at the time i thought it was a very stupid move. When asked about it les explained that if the d lines up a certain way the punter automatically does the play. I'm sure les will be asked. If les called it i disagree with trying to embarrass tech, but hey they should have shown up to play. If it is an automatic call, why should we apologize for taking a first down that tech gave us?

tech fans should be more pissed the team had no heart and their coach decided to run a defensive end deep in their own territory when they still had a chance. At that point i said to my self "they are giving up already?"

I am not really mad about the fake punt although it was classless. I am mad at the 3 points we scored in the second half. No reason why we shouldnt have scored more. We had a fumble recovery in the red zone and a fake punt that put us on the 30. How didnt we score more?

If by classless, they mean awesome, then yes, it was classless.

GT is just pissed because they believed they were gonna stomp us and they got outplayed and outcoached BAD!

+1

Les Miles and his team took out the frustrations of an entire less than stellar season on a haughty GT team and coaching staff - a team and coach who perceived LSU to be an inferior, unworthy opponent.

Say what you will, crappy year and all - and it WAS painful to watch our Tigers coming down the stretch - but we are LSU and we are the 2007 defending National Champions ... and we played like it last night.

Would it have been classless if GT would have benifited from it in LSU turning the ball over and them scoring on it? NO, it was only "classless" because LSU was successful. IMO, you need to play the entire game like every down is imperrative to winning the game. It's up to the other guys to stop you. If they do, then good for them. If not, then good for me.

If I was a Georgia Tech fan I'd be more worried about having a coach that would give his kids an option of running a fake punt inside your own 30 yard line when your only down by less than 2 TDs

as an LSU fan, I loved this call.
as an amateur football fan, I am still scratching my head

those were the plays that get GT in the hole.

I do not falter Miles for the fake,...
GT is know for scoring VERY fast, they have that ability,
I think Miles just wanted to maintain control of the ball.

The same people saying this are the same ones who hate Meyer, Ole Ball Coach, Stoops, and Carroll for running up the score on opponents. But because LSU does it, its ok.

Anyone that cries EVER over a coach trying to SCORE ever single opportunity he has, is an idiot. You're already embarassed, by that point, your just looking for something to cry about like a bitch when you start making the arguments against running up the score.

Screw Tech fans... Come to play.

I have to say it was pretty classless but I guess Miles wanted to prove something.

Herm Edwards- "HELLO!!! YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!! YOU DON'T PLAY IT JUST TO PLAY IT- YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!"

Les Miles coaches to WIN the GAME. The way you win games in 2008 and now 2009 is to hold on to the football and keep the pedal to the metal. You have to score points when you have the football.

IMO, GT fans should be pissed at their joke of a coach and his damn stupid gimmick offense. GT was a bunch of boys among men last night in the GA Dome, and it showed in every aspect of the game.

All of the experts claimed LSU would get whacked in the Chikin Bowl, and I got bashed like crazy a few weeks back for reminding a few posters that the game is played ON THE FIELD, and not in the minds of "experts" and it certainly is not played on paper.

I am VERY proud of our damn strong football team and the direction of our damn strong football program. Let the good times roll at LSU in 2009!

We showed the country we have a QB!

...and, more importantly, we reassured RR we have a QB who can pitch it accurately! JJ came a long way in less than a month with his work, both with his head in the playbook, working on getting his long wind-up/release shortened and quicker, coupled with much better accuracy.

CLM and his team spent a month reading about and listening to how their D was going to get handled by GT's "indomitable" and "unstoppable" [alleged] Triple O.

Given GT's pre-game presumptive arrogance, from the HC on down, they deserved everything LSU put to them on the field. GT did their bitching about the match-up publicly, CLM, his staff and his team retired to their corner and prepared to deliver a delicious azz-whipping.

Congrats to CLM, his staff and the entire team for coming back on the heels of a super-disappointing season and leaving LSU fans with a helluva season-ending memory.

I'm not upset about it, bit I don't think it was needed. Save that for a game when it is really needed.

I fully agree CB. One thing about Saban for example is that people always comment about how he is such a stickler for players giving 100% all out until the last tick on the clock. Commentators often joke about it and tell him to lighten up a bit. I've heard it often, and I heard it about Les last night when he had this determined look on his face making his case to the refs last night after all was pretty much done. You don't QUIT because you've got it in the bag. It sends a piss poor message to the team about easing up. There is no ease up in Football, which is why Saban coaches the way he does. I was proud of Miles for doing what he did last night, and thought it showed a lot of confidence in his team, and that he coaches to the bitter end. The time for being a good guy is after you hand the other team their behind on a platter and shake their hands. Then you show how good of a guy you are and all. When the game is on, it's blood.
