Its funny how we all love, and bleed purple and gold so much on here that we cant be wrong when someone can make a statement that JJ shouldnt be smelling the field for a program like LSU..LSU is a top 5 program..Two time BCS champ (florida the other ) How can after signing RP, we cant get a signal caller with pocket pressence that will stand in there and only run when he has to. Top 5 programs dont have to do that..By top five i mean LSU, Texas, OKlahoma, USC and Florida.

It falls on Crowton...he's supposed to develop these guys.

Flynn had been coached up by Jimbo for 4 years, so Crowton really had it easy his first year. We are 1 and 1/2 seasons into this QB problem...and we are just sitting here spinning our wheels.

There has been more than enough time to get a QB ready to run this offense and succeed.

Say what you want about Danielson, he knows his stuff. Maybe a little talkative but knows his stuff nonetheless. Very good source of info. He even brought up the question why Shepard didn't play. On TV. We can ask that all we want on the rant but he asked it.
Deal with his talk about the opposing team, he's paid to talk about them but he knows his shite.

Danielson is opposed to Shep playing a lot this year:

CBS game day analyst Gary Danielson said it would be a mistake to throw Shepard in at quarterback for any legnth of time: “If Russell Shepard is the leader of this team, they are not going to be a good football team. If Florida would have hung it on Tebow, Florida would not have been good the first year either.”

Matt Flynn is an "average talent?" A "slightly above average decision maker?" Crazy.

Apparently, you are unaware that Flynn is the backup QB on the Green Bay Packers and beat out Brian Brohm of Louisville for the spot. I suppose you would argue that the scouts for the Packers do not know how to evaluate QB talent, right?

Flynn struggled at times in his career due to injuries, not from a lack of talent. The ONLY reason Jamarcus Russell got to play as a redshirt freshman ahead of Flynn is because Flynn suffered an injury to his throwing arm during the August camp of 2004. Had Flynn been healthy, Russell may not have ever seen the field that year.

Furthermore, had Nick Saban remained LSU's head coach, there is a strong possibility that Flynn would have been named the starting QB for the 2005 team and not Russell. Even Bob Griese said during LSU's beatdown of Miami in the Peach Bowl at the end of the 2005 season that Flynn was a better QB than Jamarcus.

The reason why Flynn was not lights out in 2007 is because he played all season with a high ankle sprain and an injury to his throwing shoulder. Nonetheless, he led LSU to the National Championship and, when healthy in the BCS game, lit up a good Ohio State defense.

And who do you think is going to have a longer NFL career? JR with all his supposed "talent?" Although JR is currently the starter for Oakland, there is a damn good chance he won't even be in the league next year because if the Raiders cut bait with him, no other NFL team is going to pick him up. Flynn will definitely be in the NFL longer than Jamarcus.

Flynn's cool as hell. I met him about 30 min before I went into the stadium. He's loyal to his school, that's pretty obvious. So quit the ripping. Pretty please x o x o

No one's trying to put the guy down. Criticizing Flynn's play isn't a personal vendetta against him, it's a subjective analysis. I think he was an average BCS conference quarterback. We don't remember it now, but there was a lot of criticism of his play throughout that NC year, and a lot of it was justified. None of that matters these days since we won the NC title with him at the helm, and our last memory is of him taking a shite on tOSU's chest.

This is absolute horse shite. JJ had all the time in the world on TWO fourth down plays to dump it off to someone. 3 seconds is an eternity for an OL to hold any DL. JJ is just scared to make Lee like mistakes and only wants to throw to WRs who have two steps on his guy.

people on this board want to retire his jersey and throw any memory of JaMarcus Russell away like he was trash.

Yeah, I'd say that most LSU fans tend to like the guys that quarterbacked the Tigers to a National Championship over the ones that didn't. Imagine that.......

Hmm. An idiot? Let's compare credentials just for fun.

Rant? Some high school players and the occasional college player.

quote:

Gary Danielson (born September 10, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan) is a former professional American football quarterback. He played for the Detroit Lions from 1976 to 1984 and for the Cleveland Browns in 1985, 1987 and 1988. He amassed 13,764 passing yards and 81 touchdowns in 101 games as a professional. He ranks fourth in Lions history in passing yards and touchdowns. His five touchdowns in a 1978 game against the Minnesota Vikings is still a Lions record.

Danielson, 12 years in the NFL.

Clearly the idiot is not Danielson. His credentials are real.

Any 12 year veteran NFL QBs posting on here who care to compare their expertise of the QB position and how it is played?

Didn't think so.

Calling people an idiot because you don't like what they say is.. childish and immature. It indicates an inability to counter the original argument logically, gives an insight into the intellect of the poster making the attack, and degrades this entire message board.

Maybe if guys who can't or won't make a coherent argument would refrain from posting garbage like "your an idiot", this board would be a little better for everyone.

It contributes nothing and is a waste of bandwidth.

Attack the guy's argument and not him.

Not great but consistent and not indecisive. Also able to quickly read defenses.

None of which JJ is doing.
