I don't know what you watched, but I'm pretty sure this was the Sweet 16 and Texas was the Elite 8 game.

Nobody really gave Garrett a shot at even playing High D-1 basketball. Because in high school his team was so loaded and dominant that the other kids were kind of thought of as a supporting cast for Glen Davis.
In college it was clear that he could defend; but his shooting problems make NBA scouts look elsewhere. The only people that thought he could play in the league were Garrett, his father, and high school coach. Even Trent Johnson told Collis that Garrett couldn't make it in the league. That is what ended the association between Collis and Trent.
