It's not my fault you refuse to see things through anything but purple and gold shades.
If you present to me facts showing where anything I say is wrong, I'll be glad to accept it.
If you can't, keep you yapper shut.

Game that sold you on Les Miles
Definitely NOT Bama or Peach Bowl.
It was Tennessee 2006. Going for it on 4th down to win the game and score to put the game away in the closing minutes on the road.
It was actually third down when Early caught that touchdown that put it away.

I don't have one game in particular but rather the whole 2005 season. Any coach that can keep a team together, win the SEC West and finish 11-2 with all the distractions and emotions from two horrific Hurricanes that hit the state is something special. Les Miles is not given enough credit for doing that by many in the media.

When he was talking about not losing a game in regulation before the bowl bids were out, first I thouht he was being tacky and a sore loser. Then after I started hearing the media saying it, and realizing he was working his angle to get in the big game, I thought WOW this dude is smart. He's a MAN, he doesnt take any poop. I like his style.

Are you kidding me?
The next week we blew a 21 point lead. Were you still sold?
We're you in the state at the time?
ASU sold me too

The interesting thing is that Coach Miles has not lost a game in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night.
2005 2 losses
Tennessee on a Monday night
Georgia in Atlanta
2006 2 losses
at Florida
at Auburn
2007 2 losses
at Kentucky
R Kansas on a Friday afternoon
I was sold at the end of the 2005 season. After running through the schedule the way he did, and only losing 2 games with all of the distractions was amazing. The Peach Bowl reaffirmed my feelings on it.

Pounding we gave Miss State last year. Even after that game the majority of people were still not sold of Miles as compared to Saban.

Our defense gave up nearly 600 yards of offense, needed two special teams td's, and an answered prayer at the end to beat a team that finished 7-5 in the PAC-10.
What did you see in that game that told you Miles was definately the man for the job?
I guess you were really onboard after the blown 21-point lead against UT the following week.
If you were a believer after those two games, it's likely you believe a fat man in a red suit brings toys to children all over the world every Christmas.

It was a hell of a lot better than our season-opener in 2004, and that's not even counting what happened before then. It was supposed to be a home game. Instead, it was a game against a Top 15 team on the road. The team still looked dramatically improved from 2004.

were u in the N-lands that season?
98% of the other college teams in America would have folded like a cheap tent after what this team went thru after those 3-4 weeks trust me.
Ask yourself this question- Would LSU have went 11-2 in 05 with Saban leading the way?

2005 Peach Bowl v. Miami.
All the 'experts' figured LSU would get its clock cleaned because LSU was going against a superior team, with a superior QB and a superior coach.
As usual, the 'experts' got it WRONG on ALL counts.

What about earlier in the season, when most experts said LSU couldn't beat Auburn, even in Tiger Stadium? And then when LSU won, they were like, "Yeah, but Auburn is still better, and should have won."

I can see your point. The team didn't look good in either game.
The thing about 2004 was the field conditions were possibly the worst ever in BTR.
A wet field will level talent more than anything else.
We had an eventual #1 draft pick starting at qb at ASU plus more experience.
People were well aware that 2004 was going to be more of a rebuilding year.
In both cases neither game should have been as close as the final score.

98% of the other teams in America didn't have the caliber of athlete that LSU had(s).
I believe they would have finished at least 11-2 under Saban.
If you recall, Saban said that under his plan, the program should be a perinial national contender in his fourth or fifth year. He wasn't very far off now was he.
Despite what you believe, the hurricanes didn't effect the team's preparation as much as you think.
They weren't in New Orleans searching for the missing. Practice went on as usual.
Sure they had to move the game to ASU, but it wasn't a last minute deal.
If Miles knew it was going to be a that big of disadvantage he wouldn't have allowed it.
As for UT, we had two more days to prepare for them and the Vols actually flew in the day of.
