No games actually. His coaching/teaching philosophy is second-to-none. He's got what retard espn analysts call "sticktoittiveness". Makes me respect the hell out of him.

wow...

some people are never pleased...

Never said I wasn't pleased with the programs success. I'm ecstatic that this team has finished as highly ranked as they have the last three years.
As loaded as this program was when Miles took over, it would have been unacceptable not to.
My concern is that there have been too many close calls in games that LSU should have walked away with.
I don't think Miles is a bad coach but I don't think he's great either.
He's 34-6.
When you go back and look at all of those games, 12 more of those could have been losses if a "bounce" or call went the other way.
Had we not been more talented than everyone we've played over the last three years, it's likely Miles is more like 22-18 than 34-6 and fans are demanding a change.
NFL caliber talent has had to bail us out too many times for me to be sold on his coaching ability.
I know many will come with the "IF a frog had wings" and other cliches.
But other than UGA in '05 & UF in '06, point out a team we've played over the last three years that we didn't have better players than & should not have beaten.

Alabama in 2005. I've never been as sure of a W as I was before that game.

Peach Bowl vs Miami

Same here. I knew this coach could get'r'done.

The first year Emmitt Smith stiff armed Darrell Green and took it to the house, I knew he was for real.

We have a special coach.

I liked him from the very first.

That fake punt at AZ was a thing of beauty. I said then "I like this guy."

I have read one report that it was not his call - that the punter just decided on his own. dunno - but I have like him ever since anyway.

I wouls say 2005 Alabama also. I heard later that he gave the team a real arse reaming at halftime. So I figured that this laid back looking dude could be as firey as Saban was.

Not the game, but rather Skip Bertman's experience and tract record.

If you have to have a game, it would have to be our beat down of Miami!

It's a toss-up between

Jan. 1, 2005, vs. Iowa (in Orlando, FL)

or

Sept. 10, 2005, at Arizona State

Of course, that's just me. Anybody that wasn't on the Miles bandwagon after LSU beat Florida despite losing the turnover battle 0 to 5 was braindead, in my opinion. And then LSU beat Auburn the very next week, despite all the experts saying it would never happen. I mean, at that point, 6 games into his LSU career, with all that had already happened, how could you possibly not realize that the guy was for real? I just don't get. I don't think I ever will.

Definitely NOT Bama or Peach Bowl.

It was Tennessee 2006. Going for it on 4th down to win the game and score to put the game away in the closing minutes on the road.

Bama in 2005 was horrible as we were held scoreless or close to it the entire 1st half and the Jimbo/Les playcalling was not good either.

JR won that Bama game for us.

For me it was Ark two years ago.He recognised we couldn't slow down the hogs in the second half because of injuries to all three LB's.He took the air completely out of ball and ate up just enough clock to win the game. The momentum of that game had shifted completely to the hogs and without TH's return and a few time consuming drives we clearly lose that game IMO.Maybe I am giving him more credit than he deserves but, its about time someone does.

Hooty lost that game for the Hogs...Miles didn't win it

Probably the most important single game in LSU football history. I have never been more nervous. Had the Tigers have lost, things would probably have gone down a lot different afterwards. This was the victory that gave Miles some breathing space from his idiot critics. There's no way he would have been able to keep them off his back without it.

So, really, I wasn't nervous because I didn't know how good LSU and Miles were. I was nervous because I was concerned about what everybody else was going to think ... and do.
