Wonder why this game doesn’t have a quarter of the buildup that those 2 games had? The talent and rankings and implications are all there right?

because:
it’s only week 4
neither team is #1
there is a better than average chance they’re playing again in December.

They can rematch in Atlanta. LSU Bama couldnt. And Covid and 2020 has put a damper on everything too. Just not the same and I'd feel that way if LSU was 3-0 and looked unstoppable.

In 2011 LSU and Alabama were by far the best two teams in the country. It wasn’t even close. Whoever won that game was going to win the national championship


Also you can’t have a game of the century this early in the season

that and in 2011, LSU and Bama didn’t just look like the two best teams in the country.
they looked like 2 of the all-time great teams in history.

these two teams just look good.
but neither looks special.
