There was actually a reporter some years back in Dallas that did a piece on how domestic violence calls to 911 were double the norm on Sunday nights after a Cowboy loss.

Interesting stat that Elias probably doesn't track - There were exactly 0 murders in the city of New Orleans during a Saints game in 2009.

I don't think people think that LSU is a public university that is audited by state. well it is and each part of pro forma needs to be accounted for. Hopefully the mark ewings of the world can show where the losses in revenue are offset by incurred expenses or there going to be some splained to the auditors.. fans wanting LSU to win doesn't mean at ALL costs.

if you feel like you aren't giving enough to your university, by all means, up your ante. You don't need to rely upon game cancellations to feel the desire to help out your university by $25 further.

If I remember correctly, in 2005, when the game site changed, LSU asked season ticket holders if they wanted the ticket price credited to the next year, or to be donated to the athletic department. I'm a little surprised they didn't do the same thing.

Hey the LSU players needed the game time reps.. Anybody think fla cancelled the Idaho as a fast track to fire muschamp last year? Not saying fire miles nor was the game going to be a loss. Hope young talent is ready for next opponent without game time evaluations to review. Ask any coach that games are more important than simulated 11v 11 in practice against yourselves

taken 1/13 out of miles and coaching staffs salaries since they did not play game to reduce expenses incurred for game .

Why 1/13? Why not 1/12? They all get bonuses for post season games. Going into the season, we were all hoping for 15 games.

don't know how they will refund every ticket to the correct person.

This will just help promote using LSU's ticket marketplace, where they get a cut of the secondary market. If you bought a ticket directly from LSU (Season ticket holders, credit card sales for single game, or market place), they have your info to issue a refund. Cash sales from the ticket office is a little more involved.

Zero state funds go to the athletic department budget, so don't think the state auditors get to look at it.

Do you even accounting??? Loss revenues can be offset by reduced costs. Increased expenses can never offset losses in revenue. Losing revenue coupled with increased costs would be the worst case scenario.

Just an odd thought that popped into my head...

I wonder if the NCAA would let us make the game up in the spring. Sure it won't count, but we'd get to watch a real football game in the spring, and it will be some extra PT for the players. Not the best of options, but it seems preferable to getting nothing.

Incurred expenses from the coaches need to be reduced since there was no game. Or just don't pay them the following game is already paid

Let's see. It was the first game of the season. They had a head coach who they didn't fire during the offseason prior. The program makes more money, gets better recruits, and overall does better with stability than it does changing coaches. Do I think they purposely didn't play in Sunday due to wanting to fire muschamp before the first game of the season was played? No, and you're an idiot.

Alleva will make that up pretty easy, all you have to do is increase baseball, basketball and football tickets an extra $5 or so. Parking will go up $5.
The LSU fan will pay it back by end of next football season.

And those prices will stay that way making even more.

3.2 million should come from the SEC. Add a little extra when you send the check. Thanks, LSU.
