The decision to not bunt in the 8th was questionable but we never should’ve been in that spot. We hit a batter while ahead in the count to set up the 2 run home run. I’m not sure how many times we hit/ walked a batter and they stole third base multiple times to take advantage, and that’s on pitching. On the offensive side they battled for the most part but what sticks out to me is the strikeout with the bases loaded. It feels like that happens almost every game at this point, don’t even put the ball in play and try to put any pressure on the defense. Also Larson deserves all the AB’s.

What stuck out to me was getting a leadoff single in the 9th, one of the best hitters in the country popping up on the next pitch, jones watching 3 cock fastballs in a row and Milazzo taking 2 strikes to get way behind in the count.

Game over. Not even competitive when it mattered most.

It’s crazy to watch. Never putting any pressure on the defense it always feels like there’s no sense of urgency.

No one seems to be giving credit to the talent of Vandy. They hurt us on the base paths, had some very timely hits, and they got inning ending outs when their back was to the wall. I don’t think our infield pulls off the DP that they had in the 8th.

Every SEC team is doing all those things to LSU so far. Not just Vandy

And we’ve played some very talented teams. 3 of the 4 SEC opponents we played will likely end up in Omaha. I’m just as upset as anyone but let’s be real, our competition is elite right now and has exceeded our talent. This SEC schedule is front loaded with top teams and State is always tough, especially on the road. It will get better.

Disagree. The talent is comparable or better to any team in the league. The execution and competitiveness is not

The back end schedule is not going to be a cake walk. Outside of Mizzou, we're gonna be in tight games with each team. I think the aggies take 2/3 and I think we slip up against Auburn or Bama. We have to get 13 conference wins and that could be a struggle.

Talented or not, the results are what they are.

What sticks out to me when comparing other teams to LSU batting is the other teams seem to attempt base hits, putting the ball in play while our guys (not all) seem to be chasing the long ball all the time.

My question is who is the leader or leaders of this team. There are at lot of good ball players on this team, but not like the clutch players we had last year. Guy's you could depend at the plate up and down the line up to get hits when you need them in a tight ball game.

You have to steal, bunt, or hit-and-run literally every pitch of Milam’s last AB. A GIDP can’t be an option.

Giving up 2 out hits has killed this team all year long

This is what gets me , if you’re going to swing it’s got to be your pitch just like if you’re swinging on a 3-0 count.

That was Tommy’s pitch. He just got under it. I will never complain about Tommy swinging first pitch. We may not have won the CWS last year if he didn’t have a couple massive HRs attacking the first pitch

Exactly. Neal cost us at least two runs. We won the 'ship with Milazzo - Why is he not at least alternating?
