balance of offense and defense & L/R separation
McLovin RF
Rhymes LF
Bregs SS
Katz 1B

Yep, those 3 runs total that we have scored in our last 3 losses should have been enough for us to win all three games by a 1-0 score.

Pardon me, our last 2 of 3 loses. The first scar game and last night.

Don't you have more important things to talk about in other threads like where the DBs will be drafted in 2017?
Posted on 5/10/13 at 12:15 pm to Choupique19
That first scar loss contained horrible defense. 2 errors that led to 2 or 3 unearned runs and 2 more misplays in the outfield that were not ruled errors. Last night we had two errors in the 7th costing us an unearned run. No shite we need to hit better, but all I said was that our defense has cost us in our last few games; of course we need more hits too but better defense obviously helps us in those close games. Dang you're contentious.

Nah, I'm going to focus on who was the better hire at the time, Nick Saban or Les Miles? That question has been keeping me up late at nights. I seriously didn't go to bed until 12:30 AM last night.

LSU hasn't lost a single game "because of defense" this year. Have we made some errors in the games that we lost, sure, but let's look at the numbers...
BYU 9-4
MSU 10-2
Ark 8-3
Bama 4-3 (10)
USC 4-2
USC 4-0
A&M 2-1
15 runs in 7 losses. That's an average of barely more than 2 runs a game. Add in that only two of those losses are against the other team's ace pitcher. Asking the pitching staff and defense to hold opponents to 1 run or less in a game, is asking too much. It's obvious that in LSU's losses this year, scoring runs has been the key issue.

I would make a joke about how obvious this is, but then that wouldn't account for Arkansas' defensive inabilities

Jesus Christ. You're really trying hard on 1 part of a comment that I said that our defense has cost us in the past couple games! Not the whole fricking season like you just brought up. You're just being contentious like I said.
I'm not talking about all the loses, and yes, not shite, once again, we have to score more runs, but in a pitching duel, as 2 of the last 3 loses have been, we need to play better defense and therefore I thought foster was a liability, which was my fricking original point.

So in the 7 losses we have had we had trouble scoring runs, but the other 43 wins we didnt have an issue. Gotcha.
You sound like someone I work with. I wonder if that's who you are. You are nit picking every fricking thing.
I'll take being 43-7 and not having issues scoring runs in 43 of our wins. Lord help us that our team has a few off games.

How many balls, that aren't routine outs will be hit to RF in a game? I can guarantee you 100% that in a complete 9 innings, the RF will get, at minimum, 3 at bats. That's 3 chances at a base hit that we are wasting with our lineup last night. Also, Foster is the only outfielder that has played this year that would have an above average arm. Two of the outfielders playing last night have a below average arm to go along with their .100 SEC batting averages.
Keep one at centerfield if you like, but you can't have both of them in the batting lineup.

You sound bored as shite to keep arguing over 1 line of a comment I made about the errors we have made the past few loses. I'm done with this "argument."

Can you imagine the anarchy we would have on our hands here if we were 39-11 (16-9)? I don't know how the team and coaches could live with themselves.
