A hypothetical just for creative discussion. Why couldn’t we do the following around the infield:
Bain 1B
Broussard 2B
Slaughter SS
Reid 3B (without Smith available)
Yes. I know I know. But Hughes doesn’t offer much and don’t we have like 4 SS’s on the roster? Hell. Put Cabrera in CF and put Watson at SS (he was a SS). Dups has RF locked and Beau has been serviceable in LF.
At least this lineup gets some power and batters that put the ball in play with velocity?? Might be too late, but again, just a hypothetical.
