as the old saying goes, if the ball gets there before the player will be called out 99% of the time regardless of the tag

the guy did take jmitch around the shoulder so he had a chance to maybe reach and make it. i think the ump was behind the ss though so not sure he saw that.

NOla's was a physical mistake...not a mental one.

Really...earlier you were insinuating it was a mental one...

Seriously..some of you havent ever picked up a baseball. It's painfully obvious. AR should have run at the baserunner until he makes a move. Yes Nola threw it high on the run...but he was probably busy thinking..."Hey Anthony..why the frick do i have the ball?"

about blaming the over throw on Ranaudo

he's the pitcher, you dont want the ball in his hand, regardless. He got rid of it quick and put it in the hands of the guy that handle the ball regularly to get the guy out and Nola shite the bed. plain and simple

sure he could have ran at him more, but it doesnt get more routine than that

A-fricking-men.

Things AR did correct:

1) Making a play on what looked like a single up the middle.
2) Getting the ball to a middle infielder and initiating the run down

Things Nola did correct:

<blank>

But, on the Rant....Nola isn't to blame, he was just an innocent bystander that got thrust into a baseball game for no reason.

Oh yeah, and AR is 6'7" 231 and isn't running down the catcher for the Lady Tiger Softball team.

The play by Renaudo is to run at him until he commits to 2nd base. Then if there is a run down he gets in line behind Hanover at 3rd. But a good run down only needs one or 2 throws at the most.

Im not blaming the overthrow on him. Nola had an error..true. I really dont want to keep harping on this. But regardless of whether it's the pitcher or not...he has to make the runner move...preferably to 2nd. The whole timing was off because if anything the first throw would have gone in front of the runner..unless of course the runner broke for 2nd. But he didnt.
