I agree. The umps may have sucked, but we didn't play to our potential for sure.

You adapt to the strike zone of the ump. Feel free to tell me what this umps strike zone is. The same pitch thrown to the exact same spot would result in a 2-2 count with this guy, and it's well enough off the plate that there's little chance of making any kind of decent hit on it.
