Once again i will ask the same question...In two seperate situations, we have had a runner on first with noone out, but yet PM chose to hit instead of bunt the runner over to second. Why is this? I do believe that we do need to play small ball if we need to do so or if the game requires it in certain key situations!
it all depends on the pitcher-hitter matchup
if it's in your favor, you might as well swing away to try and get a big inning going...

An inauspicious beginning for Bertuccini. Let's turn 2, baby. Dang, I hate losing to Texas.

You don't give up outs in eighth down two runs by bunting runners over
No, you just give them easy pop fly outs with the runner stranded on first!

I have watched every game of this CWS but one and the only consistent thing about the umpiring behind the plate is the inconsistency with the striked zone from inning to inning...the same pitch on the corners would go strike ball ball ball strike ball strike ball etc...the batters and pitchers could never know what to throw or swing at...

Look even the announcers have commented on how he is giving everybody a "generous corner" but good teams adapt. They have adapted better than we have and thu will win this game. It sucks but simply is they way it is. If we don't play better tomorrow thisone will be over before it started

Looks like my change in strategy (switching rooms) isn't working.
Runner in scoring position. 1 out.

We are full of excuses blaming the umps. We are just getting outplayed tonight.
I agree. Texas hitters jacked Coleman 6 times. Even with the 6 HR's Coleman battled today while not having his best stuff. I won't say that the UMP has been consistent today because he hasn't but like someone else said, the ump didn't hit 6 HR's. Additionally, Coleman was left in the game too long. I didn't think he needed to be pulled after the first 4 but after the 5th, he should have been done. It's the difference between a 1 run game and a 2 run game.
