Seriously though I don't have a problem with the way it's selected. But don't call it an All-America team because that's not what it is.

And don't defend it and disown it in the same tweet.

Nola's stats are out of this world, good god. One extra base hit (double), 11 total hits, 36/2 K/BB ratio in 27 innings. No runs. And a smooth 4-0.

I can't wait to see him against some decent competition.

53.2 innings ago?

Game Notes LINK

LSU junior right-hander Aaron Nola enters Friday’s game vs. Purdur having fired 45.2 consecutive
innings without allowing an earned run. The last earned run he allowed came with one out in top of 5th
inning vs. Arkansas on May 23 in SEC Tournament
. Nola pitched 2.2 scoreless innings from that point
vs. Arkansas, then 7 IP vs. Sam Houston in the NCAA Regional, 9 IP vs. Oklahoma in the NCAA Super
Regional, 8 IP vs. UCLA in the College World Series and 19 so far this season.

• The NCAA and SEC record books list a record for “consecutive scoreless innings” but not for
consecutive innings without allowing an earned run. The NCAA consecutive scoreless innings record is
57, set by George Plender of Vermont in 1954. The SEC record for consecutive scoreless innings is 47.2
by Todd Helton of Tennessee in 1994, and the LSU record for consecutive scoreless innings is 44.2 by
Ben McDonald in 1989.

I will say 45.2 plus 8 last night would be 53.2 or 53 2/3 without an earned run.

Nola pitched 1 1/3 scoreless after the last unearned run vs UCLA plus 27 this year.

So 28 1/3 straight scoreless innings.
