Will Clark hit one off Eric Hetzel (I believe) that went out in right-centerfield, that had to be 450 in the air easily...

The most impressive home run I can recall was Jordan Mayer against Nicholls State two years ago...LSU had played Southern earlier that day in a a makeup game...Jordan's home run hit the lights on the way up in left field and it took about .5 seconds to get there...had it not hit the lights, no telling how far it would have gone.

Allegedly, it was Mel Ott who hit the longest home-run in Alex Box history, before it was known as Alex Box (and with an old school bat). Tis worth remembering.

Brad Hawpe. He one hopped the Athletic Admin building. I was sitting in R5. Awesome.

I have a buddy that says this after every right field homerun.

We have this discussion every few months. The consensus pick is Mouton.

The longest ball I've ever seen hit out of Alex Box was by Lyle Mouton during practice. It was hard to tell but I really do think it hit the married housing apartments. It was just too hard to tell from the angle. Many guys including Joey hit the building but with a bounce or two. I do remember a shot by Bo Jackson that may have been longer than everyone's.

He was on 'fire' during that regional and hit quite a few homeruns but I don't recall a record distance shot.

Belle, Mouton,Hymel, Walker, Furniss, Larson, Wes Davis, Cresse are some of the bigger bombers I have seen out there!

I don't remember Hymel hitting any really long bombs, but as for the other guys...I'm sure they're all within a few feet of each other.

Grisham hit one that cleared the top of the light poles in left...

I woulda never thunk him for the biggest bomb, but I have yet to see another like it.

Closest was Mouton's shot to center at the CWS.

Hymel hit some long ones, but you know, I think my memory of his homeruns are more of the serious bombs he hit in Omaha in 91'.

All of these "one hopped one of the athletic admin building" reports are BS. In order for that to happen, the ball would have to land across Nicholson well into the West Stadium parking lot. That's well over 600 feet in the air to almost straight away CF (slightly right of CF). No one has ever hit a ball that far, college, pros, PS3, etc.

I'd believe the statements about the ball crossing Nicholson down the line in right or hitting the married student apartments, but no one has ever hit a ball across Nicholson towards the athletic building. If you'd have said it landed in the street, then rolled to the athletic building, I'd believe you.

Nice try...it's 520 feet. Perfectly feasible before the bat rules were put into effect.

Ok, I stand corrected...that picture made me realize that the building is actually further into RF than I realized. I could see a ball landing in the parking lot at 520, but still one hopping the building seems a stretch. Also, your measurement may not be entirely accurate if it only measures in tenths of a mile, i.e., 0.10 is alot different than 0.19 or even 0.149, especially when talking about baseball. Even still, this is a more feasible feat than I thought possible.

No way. I won't believe it until I measure the distance for myself.
