I said it was the right call, but it was still questionable enough to where they had to review it and slow it down to see what part touched the ground before the ball came out. In real time, you can't see that. And so what if he was closer and paid part time to officiate a game? You could be five feet away and a paid ref and you can't see that kind of detail in the heat of the action in real time. How many times do we see refs letting the play happen on a close call like that and making the call on the field be a fumble/td, only to reverse it after further review? All the time.

Not this ref. He was going to make damn sure the default call on the field was that the runner was down before the ball came out. It's easy to sit back and say, "oh yeah that was obvious, you're stupid". No it wasn't. It's real easy to say that with the luxury of hindsight, slow motion, and zooming in.

How do you definitively know which ref actually made the call and whether or not he had a clear view of the knee being down?

even though the ball looked like it had already started moving before the player was down.

Said no one who watched that replay except for you.

So you are pissed at a ref who made the correct call because if he hadn't made the correct call it would have benefitted LSU more if he turned out to be wrong?

What in the actual frick?

And you could see at least one if not more had a perfect view of the knee. Palmer immediately thought he was down, but he probably has multiple simultaneous views available. Crew looked like they knew what they were doing on that one.

What part of the Ole Miss RB was down? They only showed one replay view (showed 2-3 times) in the stadium and his knee was definitely not down when the ball was poked out by the replay they shownon the jumbo screens. For this reason the crowd was livid and did not let up on the Boos for three plays. I was surprised that shite didn't get thrown on the field.

Correct calls, barely

Imagine the score though if those plays go our way. We won by 17 and that's still not indication enough of how much we dominated in the 2nd half.

He was down. The only problem I see, is the refs let the whole thing play out, like they thought it was a fumble. After we scored, they went back and said ruling on the field was he was down. It didn't look like they thought he was down to me. But that's just nitpicking. He was definitely down.

think they both were the correct calls. Nothing clear to overturn.
