Things get under way today. This is the opposite side of the bracket from us, our side starts Saturday.

By rule, the higher seed is the home team for games 1 and 3, and the lower seed is home for game 2.

Note: TCU is hosting, but Indiana State is the higher seed, so they're the home team. Oregon is the higher seed against Oral Roberts as a regional 2 seed vs. ORU as a 4 seed.

Live scores

Duke 5, Virginia 4 - Final (Game 1, Charlottesville, VA)

TCU 4, Indiana State 1 - Final (Game 1, Fort Worth, TX)

South Carolina 4, Florida 5 - Final (Game 1, Gainesville, FL)

Oral Roberts 8, Oregon 9 - Final (Game 1, Eugene, OR)

Saturday games

Virginia vs. Duke (Game 2 Sat, 11:00 AM, ESPN2, Charlottesville, VA, Duke leads 1-0)

Alabama vs. Wake Forest (Game 1 Sat, 11:00 AM, ESPN, Winston-Salem, NC)

Kentucky vs. LSU (Game 1 Sat, 2:00, ESPN, Baton Rouge, LA)

Tennessee vs. Southern Miss (Game 1 Sat, 2:00, ESPNU, Hattiesburg, MS)

Florida vs. South Carolina (Game 2 Sat, 2:00, ESPN2, Gainesville, FL, UF leads 1-0)

Indiana State vs. TCU (Game 2 Sat, 5:00, ESPNU, Fort Worth, TX, TCU leads 1-0)

Texas vs. Stanford (Game 1 Sat, 5:00, ESPN2, Palo Alto, CA)

Oregon vs. Oral Roberts (Game 2 Sat, 8:00, ESPNU, Eugene, OR, OU leads 1-0)

Excited to watch the Florida-USCe matchup tonight. Should be a good series. I think it goes 3 games.

No problem. I may have to step out from time to time, can't quit my IRL job yet. But just wanted to get this started.

I thought they changed this rule in the off-season. I thought the host (or higher seed?) gets to be home team all games. Or is that just for Omaha?

Here's the TD thread I'm referring to. LINK

Kendall Rogers tweet:

Some postseason news that fans will really like: The @NCAA announced that moving forward the home team in every level of the postseason will be higher seeded team. @NCAABaseball

We couldn't agree in the thread what the rule change actually meant.

so... Indiana State will be the "home" team in the Ft. Worth Super?

Seems pretty vague. But the main change that actually happened was in the regionals. The higher seeded team was home for the first game, as always. But for later games, if the "how many times have you been home/visitor before" rules were a draw, that now goes to the higher seed, instead of a coin flip like it used to. I assume Omaha will work the same way.

I believe so. TCU is hosting because ISU couldn't due to the Special Olympics, but they're still the higher seed, and thus the home team for game 1.

I don't know how tall the Duke batter is or how short the UVA pitcher is, but the batter looks taller than the pitcher even with the mound.
