It’s also important for the perception od SEC baseball of the future RPI.

What part of the RPI formula takes into account league prestige or prior year games?

Yep. I want the university of LSU to win. Don't care about the rest of the SEC

I think it is vitally important that we demonstrate to everyone how ridiculously dominant the SEC is in every sport, so that no matter how bad we do in conference we still deserve a shot in the post-season.

I want every CWS/CFP/Final Four/Super Six/etc. to be all-SEC, and LSU to win every one of them.

As long as we get 3-4 teams at Omaha, it won't matter, but if we only get 1....I have to believe that will hurt future invites and seedings.

I don’t have to believe it because past tournaments have zero bearing on future seedings

The seedings and teams in the tournament is 100% based on the results from the current season, that’s it. 14 teams maybe an anomaly that’s not the norm going forward.

LSU is in direct competition with other SEC teams

I'm proud we are in the SEC and the conference is as strong as it is. It makes winning that more impressive.

theSEC was no where near as good in the 90s no one cared. The winner gets the same trophy regardless of their conference

Alternatively you could just be really good and win and make the playoff/tournament on wins

Maybe I stated it poorly, but let me ask how RPI is calculated, particularly at the beginning of the season? Does SOS impact the RPI and the decisions of the committee when determining who makes a regional and who hosts? Is SOS impacted by the perception of the conference and the teams in the conference? Does significantly underperforming in the postseason impact the perception of a conference the next season when determining the SOS to start?

That's what I based my statement on. Maybe it's totally off base, I don't know.
