Straw man argument. An employer could also fire you because you wore a green shirt to work.

Don’t think that’s what they are doing but whatever.

None of these guys protesting have served or had close relatives that were hurt protecting what the flag represents.

They have no idea what the flag means for many people and their families, so its no big deal to them.

To them is may be simply people telling them what to do and they are keeping it real.

What does the flag represent?
Freedom? Freedom to protest?

Those that wish to take that right from them are the ones desecrating the meaning of the flag.

Is it offensive? I can see how some would think so.
We do not a right to not be offended.

As I see it, people are upset that the protest is about racial injustjce more than some actual insult to a symbol of freedom by exercising thatfeedom by the universal symbol of disrespect of kneeling

And I would be fired for a political statement in the clock. I admire your fortitude but you really don’t have a leg to stand on in this argument

youre missing the main point.

Of course people can protest....but not on the job. They're turning an entertainment event, where people pay a lot of money to attend, into a political/social justice event. It's not the right time or place.

If they want to protest on their own time, go for it. But not at the game.

But he has family members that served so his argument is more important than yours.

You also don't posses a unique talent that your employer would have a difficult time replacing. It all comes down to what your employer allows, the NFL could fire people this but they dont. My job allows us to leave at 4pm on Fridays other places dont.

Just because you can't make a political statement on the clock doesn't mean that applies to all employers.

Trump distorted this entire kneeling thing and made it a wedge and racist issue. This protest is about too many black people getting shot by police for reasons that many of them should not have been shot. This is NOT about our military or country as a whole.

Alienating your customer base is a fireable offense. Wonder why Kapernick and Reid can’t find work?

Well no NFL team has fired anyone yet because of it. If you are talented enough it doesn't matter what you do.

So it’s origins were about blacks getting killed?
Yet, trump made it about race?

Seems it was about race from the beginning according to you.

Maybe if the players would discuss their beliefs, we would know what their specific problem is. Problem is, most are incapable of discussing it.

I do not care if you take few seconds to protest before beginning your shift at your job, do you care if I do?

People are upset at LF for staying in the locker room.
Many are upset that someone has a different view of the freedoms offered inthe USA.

I disagree with the cause of the protest. But the protest do not bother me. I am not paying attention to what happens before kickoff anyway.

I wonder how many of those that are upset actually stand with their hand over their hearts during the anthem.

To bad Muslims go “into” enslaving Africans BEFORE the United stares was founded.

Muslims hate Africans and African Americans more than Christians.

and the players have no idea of the actual stats on bad police shootings, which are extremely low. And the police that are involved in bad shootings are prosecuted.

In a country of 300+ million people, you're going to have bad eggs, of all stripes.

Are there some bad cops - sure there are. But there's no systemic racism running rampant through police departments throughout the country. That stuff ended 50 years ago.
