Being a paramedic for 17 yrs- "Amazing Grace" via the bagpipes at a public safety funeral. Can't even imagine those post 9/11 ones. The first four of "hold that tiger"- beautiful. And seriously, because I grew up with it, I love the CBS college football theme.

This past season I was on the sideline during pregame before we played Florida. Standing on the 20 yard line when the team ran out of the tunnel and hearing the crowd from down there had the hair on my arms standing up. We've all heard the crowd from our seats, but it doesn't compare to being on the field. I'm very fortunate to have experienced it.

When Lee Greenwood sang "God Bless the USA" in first home game after 9/11.

Watching emotional Olympic Medal winners on the stands when National Anthem is played.

The anticipation leading up to, and then the actual return - of soldiers to their families from Afghanistan or Iraq deployments....

TGBFTL's marching drum cadence down Victory Hill/N.Stadium Drive, especially for the home opener and/or a very big game.....

As far as Pre Game, what always starts my goosebumps is the drum major's last few steps to mid-field and his signal to start the drum cadence before the Four Notes.... and then each section of DV's reactions when the salute is directed toward them...

My Dad passed away 2 years ago and the Vets payed Taps and 21 gun salute. I will remember that for ever. My Dad served 26 years and this was such a respectful send off.

My next vote is for the four corner salute.

Yep, it still gives me goosebumps, even though I've played it many times!

I get all choked up on fly-overs. The sound, the smell of the jet fuel, the symbolism gets me every time. However, when those horns ring out the first notes of "The Call to the Faithful"...there is nothing better!

I love the smell of jet fuel on the morning....

You really need the experience from on the field as a band member, that effect is both hair raising and literrally hits you like a physical shove by someone and that is from the 67K model.

After practicing pregame countless times throughout the season, I was worried I would get sick of it. It was worth it every time. Hell, just reading this thread gives me goosebumps

That and how quiet tiger stadium was for Amazing Grace

I understand that, too. Every time I hear it I'm reminded of walking down the field before Pregame with 90k+ singing along, ready for a good time and to watch LSU hand out another arse-kicking.

Fly overs at NASCAR events are pretty awesome IMO... Was at Daytona this year in the pouring rain when the fly over occured... You couldnt see the 5 F18's until they were right on us coming out of the clouds. My buddyIi was with said it best "I'm glad I'm an American, cuz if you see that in any other country, your F*CKED."

So glad when I see them overhead over here in the 'stan I know that they're ours.

Hearing Taps played on the loudspeakers over here when a soldier dies is pretty moving. Everything stops. Everything.

I watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknowns in Arlington Cemetery last summer. I don't have the words to describe how that feels.
