Kinda sucks that our super speedy outfield we were excited about didn't quite go as planned.

Yeah, but Foster isn't exactly slow either. He's not Stevenson/Laird fast, but he's also not Rhymes/Katz slow.

the good thing is that unlike the last few years, we have options.

ETA: none of which is named Ellick.

I'm not saying Foster shouldn't be in the lineup, but do you put a guy in the 2 spot that hasn't seen much action for 3/4 of a season?

Wouldn't mind seeing Rhymes there.

Yep. It does seem that all of our options has pretty big limitations/flaws.

Laird - big time hitting problems
Foster - not a big sample size; needs to field better
Moore - in CPM's doghouse; only plays vs RHP when Mainieri randomly chooses
Stevenson - can't hit a baseball
Yocom - can't hit a baseball

I say keep Laird in the lineup.
Bottom of the lineup. 9th hole, whatever.

Sounds legit.

I will admit to not wanting Rhymes 2nd at the begining of the year, but, it grew on me.

We need a number 2 guy that can consistently get base hits. Not just bunt runners over. We know he can.

No, he just seems to hit into them at the absolute worst times.

Laird sometimes struggles with getting bunts down but he leads the team by a ton on sac bunts with 12.

I'd be interested to see the stat on how many times it didn't work, or he got two strikes and quit trying.

Not sure exactly what this means.
