It would be fun to watch them play legit competition in the playoffs, but they won't get that opportunity. VC might score on them, but they will still win 40-7. The rest of that district they will win 50-0 every week. Then they enter a watered down, BS playoff, where they still don't play anybody. I don't see how they will even feel like they earned their state title.

Southern Lab is in the playoff again this year and will probably beat lca with ease. Ascension Catholic can beat them also. Lca also is recruiting openly in every sport. It's comical to think anything they do is remotely on the up and up.

Who is it exactly that they openly recruited on this football team (I honestly don't know). And of course Southern Lab and Ascension are organic powerhouses that would never try to encourage good players to attend their school.
I think the bulk of the players on that LCA football team have been there since before high school including most of the starters. The biggest name football play shopping around for a school that I recall recently ended up going to Notre Dame.
That being said, you are correct that Southern Lab looks like the team to beat and Ascension can beat LCA. It could actually go either way. They can't help the district they are in and never playing good competition is not good for your team.
As for the statement the guy you responded to said

Coach Trev is as class an act of a coach as I've ever personally been around. Still asks about my son, 2 years out from high school there, when I see him. And my son was just a kid on the team, almost never played.

There is not a school at ANY level in the state, that recruits more than them. Its beyond ridiculous and basketball with starks is worse.(seems they may have been fought, if I remember correctly)

I have one and soon to be 2 daughters at LCA. It is a very quickly growing school. It’s wouldnt suprise me to see them at 3A in the next ten years.

As a former HS football coach in TX, LA, & FL I will promise you that over 70% of HS football programs recruit in some fashion or another. Basketball & Baseball with AAU & travel ball are now nearing the same tier of shady.
There is so much gray area. It's not an accident when a school/district builds up their enrollment to +2500 seemingly overnight. Or in LCA's case, where every student is involved in some form of athletics or performance.

None of their Football Coaches are even employed by the School. It's Trev and all his boys running it like an AAU program. The "Coach" is some nerdy arse English Teacher that stands behind the players on the sidelines and doesn't say a word??.

Maybe they could spend some of that money from the sports program to fix that giant traffic cluster f#$% in front of that school everyday.
