Love the username.

Sorry to hear this. I didn't know LSU had another QB from Lockport besides Hodson.

Lived next door to him in Morgan City in the 80s, had old game films he’d show us, thought the tiled Tiger with LSU logo in the bottom of his pool was the coolest thing…. Sorry to hear it, RIP

RIP.
He was the quarterback around the time I started going to the games.
His name would come up in recent years when talking about the left handed quarterback’s before Max Johnson.

A great Tiger.
Hillman, that is. Not Johnson.

Tommy Hodson lived in Raceland. Central Lafourche was formed by the combining of Lockport and Raceland High Schools.
Mike Hillmans father was the coach at Lockport and Central Lafourche High.

Mike was a good friend of a good friend of mine. They sat in one of those boxes above an exit a section away from me. At the S. Cal game, he went outside at half time to get a drink from their tailgate. He forgot his ticket & could not get back inside. He spent the whole 3rd quarter trying to get back in. I can still hear my friend laughing once Mike finally got back. He finally got ahold of Coach Scooter Purvis up in the press box who got him in.

A great QB and a really nice guy. A really loyal LSU guy. The 1969 team was one of LSU’s greatest teams, They were upset by Ole Miss which was the only game LSU lost.

I was having dinner with Mike at Landry’s on I-10 justp outside of Lafayette in 1985? And I ask him if he still ever thought about the loss to Ole Miss. He waited a minute before he said, “Every night before I go to sleep and every morning when I wake up”. An intense competitor.

When I was a young boy that started listening/following LSU on the radio, Mike Hillman was my first hero. Sad to hear this news...
