LSU started the 2018 season with a new offense, a new QB, a new Oline, a new set of running backs, a new set of receivers. Yet they almost managed to pull off a 12-1 season. Who cares? You are pitiful.

Taking what I said out of context.
The guy I was responding to questioned how could we possibly make any projections about the season without knowing if there would be injuries/suspensions. I told him that he should assume that there will be, and that's not an excuse to not win the SEC West, if many people think we should be able to right now. Bama suffered numerous injuries this past season, yet it was not difficult to project them into the playoffs.
My point was, if normal attrition through injuries (because every team deals with that) means the difference between playoffs or no playoffs, then you're not in the elite class of teams. Great teams win in spite of injuries, not because they don't sustain any.
Personally, I expect playoffs, and would consider the season a massive failure if we don't. You swayed me brother.

We won the NC with two losses. Who cares?

Really, rotf?
Ok, we were the top 3 loss team because we beat UGA. Again, who cares if we beat UGA but lose to UF, A&M, and get shite stomped by Alabama at home?
Rankings are subjective nonsense.
The only thing the team and coaches can control is winning the games. This team and staff lost 3 of them.
That isn’t going to get LSU anywhere near where they want to be, at least where they claim they want to be.

Thats because no one thought 3 losses could get you #6.
And again, last year you used a 6-2 sec record to dismiss a 4 loss season and now you want to dismiss a worse sec record

It was a season remembered for upsets and chaos, not for some historic championship team unfortunately.
But yeah, we won the trophy so it counts, even if it isn’t as respected as the other BCS championships, which I acknowledge.
They don’t hand out trophies for finishing as the “best three loss team” though. But keep claiming that as if it means something similar to a BCS title.
I haven’t said anything even remotely disrespectful to the 18 team or staff, yet here you are, trying to argue over minutiae just like I said in my original post in this thread.
Insecure nerds.
Thanks for proving my point, Rog

No ones claiming otherwise, but to diminishish final rankings to feel better about yourself is pretty
I'll feel pretty good about a team that's respected enough by people with actual knowledge than the pretenders here.
Top ten any year is good.

Which season would you rather have?
2 losses and finish 8th
Or
3 losses and finish 6th
There were multiple times where the top ranked 3 loss team was outside the top 10.
We played 4 p5 games against teams with less than 5 losses.
We went 1-3.
We should expect better.

Thats what we have been reduced to.
Hey guys be happy. We were the highest ranked 3 loss team in cfb.

Except we did put ourselves in the mix only to get blown out by Bama.
I know some here get mad becsuse we aren't like Bama who makes the playoffs every year. I know some think all we need is the right coach to run the right scheme and if we hire him, we will be there.
Others like me believe it's not that easy and while many try; few are able to pull it off year after year.

Arguing we had some great year because we finished #6 is nonsense, especially when we weren’t even top 10 before the bowls which is all that matters when you’re trying to win anything that matters.
The top 10 plays each other in the bowls, so yeah half will lose meaning a team that wasn’t really a contender can get a postseason bump and look better with a bowl win.
That’s what we were this year. A good team with a good win but also MULTIPLE losses that kept us out of the championship conversation when it actually mattered.
But again, you keep up with your spinning Rog, what else is there for CheeriOs to do

Never have.
But it's obvious the people paid to cover football respect the program now far more than the dozen or so security guards who post here as nega tigers

We lost 5 out of 9? Including three in a row?

He noted that LSU was picked to finish 6-6 in 2018,
Why was this the expectation? Any ideas?
Many assumed rightfully or wrongfully that the LSU program had declined under Miles, and it was going to take time to build the program back up to being a top ten team.
