I see all those 300+ averages on the screen and they just don't correlate with what we are watching in SEC production. Lack of home runs by this team in getting to be concerning.

We are tied for 3rd in the SEC in Batting Average with a .270 average. Arkansas number 1 and MS State oddly number 2

This team is NOT a power hitting team. This is a small ball team that our hitting coach THiNKS is a power team.

When you attempt a lead off bunt with your best hitter in Curiel you are overthinking quite a bit.

I doubt it’s updated for today’s game but according to D1 stats we have just two guys above .300 in the SEC (Curiel and Stanfield).

I’m not going to look it up but it’s hard to imagine that we aren’t the only team in the SEC not named Missouri to have only one guy with double digit homeruns.

Batting average is fine in conference play. It’s the lack of run production that is killing our offense. We are only averaging 2.6 runs per game in our last 7 conference losses

Thanks, just as I thought...our first 3 hitters are hitting in the .250's.
Who ever thought that was the best way to produce runs?
Decades of baseball lineups were the way they were for a reason.
Mantle, Maris, Mays, Williams, Jackson and most other great hitters batted 3rd-5th. The idea is to have power guys drive in runs, not be the run trying to be driven in.
Stupid hitting lineup, and I don't care what the 'analytics' say today.
LSU is proving it isn't working.

Jay is tinkering too much with the lineup

You are correct. Curiel and Dickinson should be the first two hitters in the lineup.

If it makes you feel better m, Missouri doesn’t even have one guy in double digit HRs on the season
