Weren't you one of the MANY bashing the hire of Chief in the first place, now heaping praise on the hire? Can't have it both ways!!
I critisized the early philosophy of giving up too many yards between the 20's but also acknowledged they also kept people from scoring. Whatever the case, I didn't critique his communication skills which is what I was talking about in this thread. He made me a beleiver when I heard him yesterday and with the play of the defense the last 2 years.

Only in how a real coach communicates information to the media and fanbase about his team, that was my only point. Chavis (and Stud for that matter), did an excellent job of just going straight to the point and giving information. Forget all of the verbal gymnastics, mealy mouthed answers, and non sequitors, just say it and people will appreciate it more.

Feel free to list all the Head coaches that that do that.

Ever hear a Saban press conference? Come on, head coaches never say shite. Your post is nothing but another pot shot at Miles.

The mark of a real coach is how they communicate with the fans and media. Winning and other bullshite is secondary.

Do you actually think that was the philosophy?

It was actually praise for Chavis. Lots of head coaches provide a good evaluation of their players in the press. I live in UGA and Richt is on the air all of the time, and does a real good job of dealing with the press and just talking plain football talk. I will agree with you that some HC's are hot air (Mac Brown comes to mind, can't stand that guy and how he speaks to the public). But this was not about Saban or other coaches, this was about our team, thanks for playing, though.

Bend don't break is what I saw on the field so I'll have to go with that, yes. Do you just ask questions about questions or do you have an actual opinion on anything?

How is he not a head coach? Pay attention Les.

Maybe he doesn't like media, nor recruiting, nor being a major representative of the University. Maybe he can't ID, attract and hire top assistants. Maybe you could ask Les how to manage a championship program, or maybe you could just shut up and observe.

If you believe giving up a bunch of yards is actually a defensive philosophy, on top of several other clueless remarks you've made recently, my opinion is you have no idea what you're talking about and shouldn't be allowed to post anything related to football until you attend that class/camp they have for women every Summer. It seems like that is more on your level.

Sure it was, from the REAL coach talk on down. The fact he want stand behind his bash is just proof of what a goof he is.

Know what I appreciate...winning!

Know the one main constant on the LSU staff during the most elite period in LSU history...the HC.

Personally, I don't give jack bout how a HC talks when they have given me more BCS wins and more SEC wins than any BCS program in college football since 05, but thats just me.

I always enjoyed listening to Dinardo...maybe ATL would like to have him back. We'd win less but at least we would learn more from his press conferences.

That's fine....but no need to bash Miles in the process. If Chavis is such a "real" coach (which I agree with by the way)....then it reflects on Miles pretty well since he stays here to Coach.......yes?

hell the best thing Chief said yesterday was the story about hiring Haley.

quote:

When Coach Miles hired me, we talked about hiring a defensive line coach. I told Coach Miles, 'I know where the best one in the country is.' I said, 'He is in the NFL, I don't know if we can hire him.' He said, 'What do you mean? If he is the best, that's who we are going to hire.

Les did really well yesterday. He doesnt need to pay attention to you or anyone else. But ur rt Les, the head coach, doesnt know his players. He strait up said he knew how good brockers was going to be.

You were prob one of the fricktards that said chavis was a bad hire, his scheme was outdated. 3rd and chavis.
