Not true, I think is the perfect # for the playoff and would prefer to cut the bowls in half

Exactly. The playoffs, like the new transfer rule, just gives Saban a bigger margin for error. Drop a game to a crappy A&M team? No problem. There's no BCS computer to punish that. Instead there's a playoff committee with college professors on it.

frick that. If you don’t play you pay your scholarship back

You can forgive stuff pretty easy if someone has a legit reason but these cats are making millions. Guess what. You are now liable for tuition if you punked out

They want to keep watching those meaningless bowls between 6-6 teams
I'd much rather watch two evenly matched 6-6 teams play in a bowl game than to sit through the 1 vs. 4 playoff slaughter.

Can you imagine the 1 vs. 7 game? Talk about a meaningless game. 2 vs 6 would probably be just as bad.

So you're O.K. with meaningless playoff games just so long as there are no evenly matched bowl games, amirite?

Okay, imagine this. In 2019 Burrow and company has to play an extra game in which he gets hurt and we lose.

Playoff expansion devalues the regular season. What made CFB so great in its peak was the win or go home mentality that was present every week. #1 team gets upset? They probably don’t control their own destiny.

For instance, the UCLA game was completely meaningless this year. We still controlled our own destiny after the game.

Same was true at the end of the BCS era.

It would make some games less meaningful, like the first loss, but with more teams in the hunt for the playoffs it would add higher stakes to more games.

90% of teams being out of the discussion halfway through the season doesn’t make every game matter.

We have been able to get 3 competitive teams to the 2 games but not 4. How the FRICK are you going to get 8 teams able to compete?
