Right now my friend reserved some rooms at the Westin until we could figure out where most of Tiger nation was staying.
The Westin is different from the W, but from what I can gather there will be a ton of LSU people at the Westin. The Downtown Westin is massive (almost 900 rooms). Should be a good time.

JPL-my buddy that is doing our group's land (and water) planning said he found a boat that could take up to 200 , for $2000, light food, cash bar, apparently to and from the game. Told him if that was for sure, he needed to get on here and post details. We have around 20 in our group too, so if we could get 100 people, it would only be $20/person, well worth it, just for the ride to the game. We would just have to be sure they stocked enough alcohol-they can't be used to a group drinking as much as LSU fans do.
Keep me posted on this ... we've got 23 people in our group that want an all-day tailgate boat. Right now we've got the Ivars boat reserved, but we'd certainly prefer an all-day or half-day boat to tailgate on.

Side note for those renting cars: don't forget to pack your car flags in your luggage...

Let's get in touch before that weekend rolls around and get everybody together for drinks.
Sure thing Stromile... From what I gather, the Westin AND The W will be full of Tiger fans. Downtown Seattle will have LSU fans everywhere.
According to the GM at Ivars, that boat is pretty much all Tiger fans as well. I can't wait, it should be a great weekend!

Guy's I know Ivar's is the seafood joint out there, but what boat are you all talking about?
Me and 3 other guys are staying at the W from Thursday -Sunday. I was wondering myself what most fans planned to do on gameday, but I'm really concerned with getting to and from the game since we are not renting a car.
We'll be spending Thursday and Friday bar hopping, eating, going to the EMP, Pike Place, etc.
If anyone can provide insight on the transportation issue it would be greatly appreciated.

From what the UW guys say, Ivars is not a place to really "hang out" on GameDay. The Ram at University Village seems to be the place on GameDay for hanging out, eating, drinking and watching the other games on TV. Ivars is good for dinner before the game and having a boatride to/from the game and you can obviously park there for free. The ticket is $40 (see information below on the other restaurants in Seattle that have a boat).

Husky Football Transportation.
Join the local Seattle tradition of taking a boat ride to Husky games! Voted yearly as one of the most scenic stadiums in college football, Husky Stadium is located on Lake Washington and has a seating capacity of 72,500. Eliminate parking and traffic headaches on game day and have the unique experience of tailgating on the water. Tickets for this transportation are not sold through Argosy. Please call the following restaurants for more details:
Ivar's Salmon House (Departs Lake Union): 206.632.0767
Yarrow Bay Grill (Departs Kirkland): 425.889.9052
Chinook's (Departs Fisherman's Terminal): 206.283.4665
If you can call Ivars and get reservations on their boat, I'd recommend parking there and taking the boat to/from the game. Ivars is right next to campus (a tad to the southwest), so you're within walking distance of campus if you want to walk around campus during the day or head over to The Ram at University Village. Argosy Cruises it the boat company that Ivars, Chinooks, and Yarrow Bay all use ... if you go to there website, scroll down to Husky Football Transportation. LINK
Our group would prefer an "all-day tailgate boat," but these restaurant boats provide a nice alternative if we're unable to get an all-day or half-day boat.

About 5.5 hours total.

I believe it's something around a 4.5 hour flight from NOLA to Seattle. Maybe a bit longer if I'm not mistaken.

I just checked Orbitz (I'm flying from Nola with a layover in Houston) and from Houston to Seattle they say 4 hours 45 mins.

I've asked many people this same question, and all the UW fans pretty much agree that The Ram at University Village is the best place close to campus to go have a beer, hang out, and watch all the other games on TV.

We'll probably hang out for a little while somewhere close to campus (either Ivars or The Ram) after the game, let traffic die down, and take a cab back to downtown.

Thanks to those who responded about the Westin and The W (TigerGrl73, Griffmanjoe, & Golfer).
Very much appreciate the info.
From the sound of it, we'll just keep our reservations at The Westin... sounds like there'll be plenty of LSU fans there.
Absolutely CAN'T WAIT!! GEAUX TIGERS!!

I see a lot of people doing the cruise before the game. we are not sure if we are going that route yet. We will have a car up there for the week. Is is possible to park on campus on gameday or somewhere near? thanks
ETA: Does anyone know the drinking policy up there. Are you allowed to walk around campus with alcohol. I know some areas have strange laws, like you have to have it in a cup and such. Thanks again.

Can't drink "on campus" but there are huge parking lots to the North and South of Husky Stadium (though South may be messed up due to light rail tunnel construction) that they monitor but turn a blind eye if you're not making an arse of yourself.
Use a purple keg cup or some other container and you can drink what you'd like at the tailgates.
But, being a drunk idiot or walking around with an obvious open container on-campus probably isn't a smart move.

Portland area alum chapter is bringing a group of over 150 to the game. Chances are they'll be in one spot together. A bunch of great people that host a nice boil every May. When I find out exactly where I'll start a new post.
