in another thread, someone made the assertion that bringing in Lee a couple series earlier wouldn't have affected the outcome of the game. He was just gonna handoff, yada yada... the game was won. Why not play Lee more?

I submit this argument- go check the box score for the 1st half again. With 5:16 left in the 1st half, we were down 14-0. Over the last 5:15 of that half we scored 3 TDs and took the lead.

LSU was up 3 TDs with over 7 minutes left, and JJ had the game in control. But Arkansas has the top passing offense in the SEC, with 3-4 WRs considered among the best in all of college ball. They also have a punt returner with 3 TDs on the year.

So Arkansas is more than qualified to mount a comeback, and had more time left in the game to score 3 TDs than we required to do that in the 1st half.

Do you REALLY want Lee to play THAT MUCH, that you would risk blowing an undefeated season by changing out the quarterback? We don't know if he would play well or not. Arkansas was in desperation mode, and blitzing every down.

Les made the right call. Almost everyone but the blind can see it. Let it go. We won, again.

Considering the fact that the offense runs better with Lee in, the thought of any "risk" is just silly.

I'm happy for both guys and the way things have turned out this season. We're fricking 12-0 and have beaten down everyone except Bama, and that was on their turf.

Forget the names of the players involved, and let me rephrase the question this way:

Arkansas had a 2 TD lead with less than 6 mins to go in the 1st half, and we scored 21 points on them. Arkansas has on paper the more potent quick strike offense between them and us.

The drive in question started with over 8 mins to go; more time than we needed to score 3 times. With 12-0 and #1 on the line, and the current qb having scored the previous TD BECAUSE he can run against Arkansas' desperation blitzing, do you really want our head coach to bring in the less mobile qb, cold, with them blitzing every down?

Not only was an Arky comeback possible, WE had done the exact same thing in the 1st half.

I say- put the opponent away. And call the game the way we did; don't kneel until the last play. Don't play with fire AT ALL with everything that was at stake in this game.

You act like he can't play or that if he does we will loose. You forget the first 8 games it was Lee by himself and we still won every game in double digits and the games were not against W.kentucky it was against Ore.,and WV.
