I think the original flurry of cups was spontaneous and just happened. But once things settled down and the game had to be stopped a second time the students booed the culprit and cheered as the security removed them from the stadium.

Were the students intentionally throwing cups onto the field? I assumed it was like a celebration at a football game where everyone throws their drinks up in the air and some just happened to fall onto the field.

I was a little confused as well as to why they threw shite on the field.

It almost seemed like a beer shower gone wrong and not blatantly throwing trash on the field.

Yea I didnt see the game last night but hearing alot about stuff being thrown on the field. Was there a bad call or something that perpetuated it? Couldnt find video of it.

That I’m not sure of.

I usually give the students crap for being unoriginal with some or their antics, but I thought they brought it pretty good last night.

It was after Thompsons 3 run double to go up 5-2. It was celebratory. I dont think they were intentionally throwing stuff on the field, I think they were just throwing there drinks and they ended up on the field.

There was a bottom of the 8th inning, two out, bases clearing 3 rbi double.

It was a celebration thing.

Dont understand how people can say this when literally about 2 dozen drinks landed on the field, they were clearly throwing them on the field or there was a hurricane gust of wind blowing in from RF when they threw them up. There were a bunch that landed WELL inside the fence, not just inside.

Because I dont think they stopped to try and aim straight up, dickhead. They just flung their drinks.

Not saying I condone it at all, I just dont think they were actively trying to throw shite on the field.

And 2 dozen doesnt seem like a whole lot considering there are a couple hundred people in the vicinity.

I was in section 99 right next to the students. There was beer and popcorn everywhere as soon as the ball was hit. Just celebration that got out of hand

Reminds me of the story my dad loves to tell about the FL St. game when everyone threw oranges on the field and finally the PA guy said if another orange is thrown it’ll be a penalty against LSU and one guy did it and everyone in the student section pointed directly at him and started chanting throw him out, throw him out.

Again, many drinks landed WELL onto the baseball field. People arent "accidentally" throwing drinks 30 feet away from where they are. Maybe a few were completely unintentional, the majority most definitely were not, dont be so naive. They were literally cleaning drinks up almost 25-30 feet onto the field. Those were CHUCKED very purposely onto the field. Also when watching the replay, no drinks landed on the field during the play, so it was well after people started celebrating before drinks started flying onto the field, pretty obviously grand majority were intentional.

...at least they did wait for the play to be over

It was probably accidental at first. Drinks and stuff were thrown up in celebration and some landed on the field. Then some people saw and wanted to be "cool" and threw some intentionally.

There were definitely some intentional beer can throws. A few came way too close to the right fielder, which pissed me off a little. I’m all about chirping and trash talk, but if one of those hits his head that’s a possible concussion.

I'm not mad about it, but don't throw shite on the field if you can help it. Student section looked lit.

It was likely a mix of intentional & unintentional. Many are in/near the warning track.
