Heat was the only positive. Those old school furnace heaters were overpowering. You must have had a faulty heater. (North Stadium 5th floor escapee)

How much of the stadium did you have access to on a normal day where there wasn’t a game?

I think your roommate and RA were gay too

Then on the East side of the stadium was a bunch of old 70s-80s era meeting rooms, lounges etc. Cool times.

On the east side, they had a small cafe-type area and a washeteria as I recall. I think they actually had some football operations stuff on that side too but not sure.

In the Fall of 1985 I neglected planning for housing. I kinda thought I would find another roomate and rent an apartment. I went back home to Lafayette and spent the Summer fishing offshore, drinking at the strip almost nightly and taking a couple classes.

I think in July I came to realize I had to do something. I hadn't lived in a dorm yet and was going in my Jr year. I decided to try it. My options were Stadium West ( I think) or the Pentagon. I chose the Pentagon (A-311)

We had no AC and it was pretty much a free for all. It was a wild arse place. I loved it and made a few very good friends. My roomate (randomly selected) was a pot head. It didn't bother me but I could have done without it.

We went to the NM game with our wives this year. He is massively successful in the health care business. The whole experience at the Pentagon was one of my best at LSU.

Yeah, They were radiator-style heaters in west stadium. Supplied by the physical plant. It could bake you if you turned it up and forgot overnight.

One of the guys on our floor figured out he could turn on all the hot water taps and crank up the raditor in the bathroom (one stadium-style bathroom in each wing in west stadium) and end up with a sauna in the bathroom.

It sucked having to go move your car every Friday night to a different lot.

For us in 1980 that only meant moving it to the south stadium parking lot. Before they made that an RV lot.

RIGHT when we were moving in they added stalls to the rows of toilets and showers.

LOL! I can confirm. I lived in North Stadium the year before you. No stalls.

Not in my room. Cold AF. August heat was almost unbearable sans Jack Daniels.

You almost hit me you son of a bitch. JK but I remember seeing the evidence of one of those a few times.

There was also a guy who hung a Nazi flag out of his dorm window in 1980.

Same in west stadium. Shorter halls I think so 3 toilets, I think there was a half wall between them. Basically armrest height. And a large stadium-type shower with 2 shower heads. I pretty much hated that .

I lived in Broussard Hall in both Fall ‘95 and again in ‘98-99 school year. Only hall bathrooms and there were no stalls for the shower. Just two walls with shower heads sticking out. Talk about humbling when you are 5’-11” and about 155 lbs taking a shower and in walks the 6’-6” 260 lb DE.

I still remember Booger McFarland taking the foulest smelling shite in there one night while I showering. Damn near puked. Got out of the shower and out of that bathroom very rapidly.

Third floor of North Stadium in 1980/1981. It was like animal house. LOL We bought block ice and put it in a pan in front of a fan because of no AC. Overall I had a blast and am glad I had the opportunity to live there. Game Days we’re on a whole other level. The entrance to the student section was right below my room.
