I'm just glad they weren't on the schedule. Nichols is obviously really good this year. Likely another loss.

Would they beat Georgia and Auburn?

It's obvious that Nichols would destroy either of these teams.

Solid, thoughtful and witty response. Actually more so than most of the posts in this thread.

Serious question for you. How do you determine the success or failure of an Offense?

Everybody knows that this offense has not been good for a variety of reasons. Questionable playcalling, starting young players along the offensive line that are not even close to ready, depth, missed assignments galore, players playing out of position due to a lack of quality depth, I can't really bitch about strength and conditioning if the player is put out there before he's ready but strength and conditioning, fundamentals.

I may have missed a few but there's some issues that need to be addressed moving forward.

I didn't mean why they were or weren't good. I intended to ask: when comparing the success of our offense against others how do you do that? What types of metrics do you consider to be important?

I'm not comparing LSU'S offense to others. It's a futile proposition and huge waste of time that can only increase someone's frustration level. Why not concentrate on what it's going to take to get LSU'S offense to play better and have those discussions. I believe that Steve deserves a chance to finish his contract and put a better product on the field. It doesn't look like that's going to happen. I just hope that he goes back to his former position with the TEs.

This board has to be the dumbest on the internet. Most of you know damn near nothing about Football. This seems to be nothing more than a bitch board for so called LSU fans who never have anything positive to say about LSU. If it isn't bitching about Les Miles then it is bitching about Alleva; or Ensminger; or some tired, stupid joke about a Binder; or now the score of a meaningless football game between Nichols and SLU.

You Junior High girls must have had your 1st Period and need to take a Midol. Little bitches.

No I don't. I just hope that coach O keeps the details from the public, waits til at least after the bowl game and probably after signing day. I also hope whoever he's talking to doesn't become public knowledge. You can probably forget Briles.

I didn't think Briles was a possibility TBH. I think that's a little more flash than O wants.

That's the point of many of these threads. We're trying to diagnose the problem. People say it's injuries on the o line, and I agree with that to an extent.

However, why is it futile to discuss the coaching quality? That's what I don't get. Everyone admits the o line is sub par this year, but if you bring up legitimate coaching issues some try to just shut down the conversation. Why is that? Part of comparing coaching talent/skill is 1) looking at their coaching history and 2) comparing their current production against other coaches/offenses.

Why is it ridiculous to have that discussion?

Because Bama dropped 100 on them and they had a ton of possessions, good lord you people are slow

We can start with being near the bottom of the nation in every major statistical category.

It invariably devolves into slamming the coaches and everyone chimes in with their latest trash the coaches insult. I'm not sure how you think that is constructive. You'll have multiple threads at once ripping the coaches. I want to know why Steve feels like he has to call a game a certain way. I want to examine why these linemen are lacking in fundamentals, why they're so slow, why they're so bad in pass protection. This might be why Steve feels locked into play action. Play action blocking schemes may explain it. I want to know why the younger but more talented WRs aren't seeing the field more. I know that they're just not ready but LSU could use that speed right now.

Do you think that anyone on the coaching staff is happy with the offense? If we can agree that no sane person could possibly be happy with it then why in the hell do they feel locked into what they're doing. I'm sure that there are several reasons but one obvious reason is personnel in key positions.
