Yeah, there are "certain" people who can't have a civil conversation. They will ruin any thread they post in and usually end up in ruination. Its very common.

Was great to have a conversation without either side coming in and then attacking making arguments without points. It doesn't happen often on here anymore.

I agree that the team will go as goes the quaterback. If JJ can find and hit his receivers it will do wonders for the running game and the offensive line play. Does JJ have what it takes?? Nothing that I have seen in JJ's career so far gives me optimism that the light bulb is is going to finally turn on. If anything, JJ has regressed the longer he has been in Miles' system. I hope that JJ surprises me and has a great year.

This pretty much sums up what I think the entire season will hinge on. So, does totally agreeing with this statement by LL make me a negatard? If so, go ahead and call me out now...

Isn't then all the negative talk speculation also? In other words just an opinion? We where once a good team and we digressed so if we can digress can we not improve also?

The problem is both sides are putting out opinions and nothing else. The problem is some like to look at the glass half empty and some look at that same glass half full and it depends on how you look at it is the way you look at other things also.

Now when you look at LSU football everyone looks at it differently and depending on how they see it that is the way they feel how this coming year will play out. Most of it has to do with their feelings about the Coach and not the players and the way they are or are not improving.

I know everyone does not like the Coaching staff and there is nothing going to be done about it now. We all know how each one on this board feels so what happens those that feel differently make threads so that it gets the other side up set no matter if it is possitive or negative.

This is not a knock on any one side it is just the way it is. Some of it is done intentionaly to bring out all this back and forth crap. I say we all need to calm down and like you say that there is no facts about how this team is going to do it is all speculation.

Things happen to people that not everyone knows about and when that happens it effects a lot of people around them. Sometimes there is nothing that can be done about it and then other times it is. We all know what happened over the last two years that effected this team one year and into the next. But, there was one I did not know of and was not aware of it and that was with Moffit he had to deal with an illness and it effected the way this team had their training program dealt with. Yes that too can be Miles
's fault to an extent but he is the best S&C Coach in the Nation so he dealt with it the best way he could and it also cost the team big time.

Everyone needs to respect oneanother's feelings on how they think the year is going to play out. That is how you disguss it not with all this name calling because someone does not agree with you and that is one thing I simply will not do and if I have I do not recall it or it was when I first started.

Everone making sarcastic remarks to oneanother does not help either so I have spent the better part of today reading and not posting unlike yesterday when I got into it with a couple on here. I am sorry for that and will try my best not to do it anymore.

I SAY!

This is the first time that I have read your posts and agreed with your opinions. Well done! I love the Tigers and Ray Charles could see that LSU never lost a game because the other team had more talent. Hopefully LES has fixed the problem or is in the process because of contracts and budget restraints of doing so. I really like the new hires. a couple of coaches have been put on notice.

I doubt you want rational responses.

Your post is laced with pejorative, emotionally charged adjectives and infantile attempts to position those who may have a legitimately different opinion as disloyal fans, because by definition, only those who share your world-view are loyal fans.

That being said my rational response is Miles, Crowton, and Stud, all architects of the last two year's worth of mediocre play, are still here.

I'd love to be proven wrong, and failing that, I'd love to get rid of them all. Perpetual mediocrity rationalized by the idea "things could be worse" is not what this fan wants.

NegaTard Call-Out Thread

Wow, you couldn't even wait until the body of the post to ruin it.
quote:

I am calling out the biggest, loudest, negative nancy's (you know who you are, but I can name a few posters if you want) on this board to actually talk football.

No, you aren't. Here is the proof...
quote:

This faction of "fans" will never be happy until Miles is fired. How can a "fan" want LSU to have a bad enough season to fire the coach, lose out on the best class of recruits in Louisiana history, and resulting in sending the program back to the 90's for the sake of beating their chest on the internet saying I told you so?

Who has said this?
quote:

I am no Miles apologist.

This line of bullshite is supposed to be your "football talk only"?
quote:

I want to read well thought out reasons why LSU will be better or worse (the NegaTard wish)

So, again, you prove you are not asking for football talk.
quote:

What went wrong in 2009?

How long do you have?
quote:

I do not want to read your typical responses (because, Miles sucks, this coach sucks, that coach is an idiot, etc.).

OK, ask for the reason for an event and then exclude 99% of the answer from the possible responses. Yeah, that makes sense.

2009 SEASON ISSUES:

Obviously, a very long post has to follow this.
quote:

Crowton installed his helter skelter, mass chaos, version of the spread offense. The "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" offense. The play calling was all over the map. If a play worked, we would not see it again for several games. Mass chaos ensued. Miles should have never allowed this to happen. "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it".

Well, thank God we aren't going to blame anything on the coaching.
quote:

It was obvious to me while watching the games that the players were having trouble with the scheme. I also think that Stud was having trouble teaching it. All teams run some zone blocking, but these OL players were used to lining up and whipping the man in front of them, not playing a patty cake zone blocking style. Once again, Miles should have never allowed this to happen. "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it".

Thank God we don't have a problem with the coaching.
quote:

O-Line Personnel - Stud playing his pets (Hitt and a hurt Black) instead of playing the best players. It was obvious that Black was playing hurt. He needed to be substituted for more often. Hitt should have been replaced after the first game. He was just bad. When the back-ups were inserted in the game, the OL magically became better. The OL lineup should have been Josh D. at LT, Blackwell at LG, T-Bob/Lonergan at C, Hurst at RG, Barksdale at RT.

Good thing we solved the problem of having a shitty OL coach.
quote:

QB Coaching - It was obvious that Jefferson was playing scared. He did not want to make a mistake. This was a complete change from the kid we saw in the '08 Peach Bowl. IMO, the change in offensive philosophy really hurt. It seemed as if Jefferson was regressing game-to-game. The coaching from Crowton was no where to be found (ie: the constant 7-10 yard drops).

Fortunately, like Studrawa, Crowton is gone now, too, right?
quote:

Change in Offensive Philosophy - It was obvious watching the spring game that the offensive philosophy was moving back to more of the style that was run in '07 and the '08 Peach Bowl.

OK, help me out here. Now the spring game suddenly IS important? I just want to keep up.
quote:

IMO, the addition of Ben Wilkerson is a huge, huge deal. The word coming from the spring practices was that Big Ben was heavily involved with the teaching of techniques and installing a physical, dominating, nasty attitude back into the OL. Stud should have been let go, but I would not mind Big Ben getting some experience for a year and taking over as OL coach next year.

Well, the first sign of a successful unit is when the coach in charge of it is obviously crap, but there's a grad assistant who used to play one of the positions in the unit. I mean, the only thing better would maybe be if the fricking HEAD COACH was a former offensive lineman, right?
quote:

Change in O-Line Personnel - With Stud's "teachers pets" gone, he has no choice but to play the best players.

So, he will suddenly have no more "pets"? Why? If he wasn't playing the best players before, why would he now?
quote:

QB Coaching - Having Crowton on the sideline is going to help Jefferson.

Yes, because the more we can get Crowton involved in the action, the better it will be, obviously, right?

OK, now that you've been exposed as a complete bullshitter, here are the substantive reasons why we won't be much, if any, better than 2009;

1--The offensive line is still coached by the same idiot who produced possibly the worst LSU offensive line in history out of what Les Miles called possibly the best offensive line he's ever coached. On top of that, it's got a lot of new faces at various positions. No matter how talented, an offensive line needs experience playing together to be very effective. Youth and inexperience on the offensive line is probably a bigger contributor to bad overall team performance than any other problem in any other area.

2--The person whose play calling greatly contributed to the worst LSU offense in modern history is still going to be calling the plays. When we are in FG range, down by 2 with a minute to go, the same guy who dropped a sack-prone QB 8 yards back against a blitzing defense will still be calling the plays in 2010.

3--The defensive line, a weakness last year, has lost key contributors and is now the smallest that LSU has had in probably 10 or 15 years. On top of that, the outside linebackers are a huge question mark. Yes, the front 7 may be faster, and that might help against some teams, but in the the game that would decide the SEC West title (if we were good enough to be a factor in it) and the success of our season (Alabama), they will be facing a power running team. Not a good sign.

4--The quarterback situation is still a major issue. Based on your assumption above about the importance of the spring game, we could conclude that it's at least as bad as last year, or worse. Based on more well-rounded information, we have no reason to conclude that it's significantly better. Yes, thank God Jordan Jefferson is now past the magical 20th birthday/3rd year in the program/a year as a starter under his belt milestone, which, as we all saw, did wonders for Jarrett Lee last year.

The bottom line is that there is not one single objective factual basis for believing that LSU will be any better this year than we were last year. The 2010 LSU football team has more serious question marks going into the season than any LSU team since 2000. The coaching staff has demonstrated serious and fundamental weaknesses ranging from in-game strategy, decision-making and awareness to overall scheme and teaching ability. The personnel losses are as great as they have been in any year for a decade. The schedule is as difficult as any we've faced in over 10 years.

If there has been any August in the last 10 years when there was less reason to be optimistic about the upcoming season than there is today, I challenge you to point it out to me and explain why.
