Hell the running isn't even what stood out, the touchdowns/yards would make him the best QB in LSU history season stats wise.

That too. I just find the running parts hilarious. I had a buddy of mine pumped when Jacksonville got Leftwich, saying finally they'd have a QB with wheels

JJ has wheels, but they are not for running. He is an efficient runner but not Randle Cunningham or Vick.

I am still waiting on him to show me where I was negative. I thought I was just mocking him and others like him.
This is exactly what I am talking about. You constantly mock other posters if they do not agree with your agenda. Can you not put together well thought out reasons as to why LSU will be better or worse this coming season? That is what I asked for. I do not care if agree or disagree with my thoughts/reasons. I like to read others thoughts and opinions. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the up coming season.

He looks awkward running the ball, and the couple of times I really watched him do it, he didn't get the hell down. I hate when my QB's take full hits running out of the pockets. All I can say is hopefully he'll have progressed enough where we can actually punish teams for stacking the box this year.

ok then what is positive about 8-8 in SEC play the last 2 years?

Maybe we survived the Tebow years?
I'd be a lot happier if Bama wasn't becoming a powerhouse.

Apparently he wants facts, but I believe it is only facts he can agree with. I am not sure yet, I am negative because I am mocking him though.
Once again, I just want to read well thought out reasons as to why you think LSU will be better or worse this coming season. We do not have to agree with each other. I just want to read some good posts about football.

Hopefully. I wonder where the conservative play calling ended and JJ's lack of aggression started though. Unfortunately none of us can listen into the headsets and find out.

I really don't have a reason to believe LSU will be much different than last season. If you are looking for facts, there are few. Its still going to be opinion.
Anything we do now is just a guess. After the first couple of games we will know more about how JJ has progressed, if Gonzo is having an influence, the offensive lines improvement, etc....
I think the defense has some incredible athletes and could be pretty special. The offense has some potential playmakers, now its up to the coaching staff and QB to put the ball in their hands.
Again, all opinion.

1) Change in Offensive Philosophy - It was obvious watching the spring game that the offensive philosophy was moving back to more of the style that was run in '07 and the '08 Peach Bowl. This change back is going to help Jefferson. Gonzales is inserting some of the Florida style spread in the offense. Crowton should have been let go, but keeping him from out thinking himself will be the key. I really think that Gonzales is going to have more of a say in the offense than we think and will be calling the plays by mid-season. Gonzales in the booth is going to help.
Gonzales has nothing to do with the play calling, and Crowton's offense is not for beginners. You will see an improvement in the offense when JJ learns to trust his arm, and quit throwing it behind and below the WRs, which hopefully is a natural progression. We as a fan base constantly berated Flynn, but as he's become the back up to Aaron Rodgers, beating out Brohm, it makes more sense he could run Crowton's system.
Good post. I agree that Crowton's offense is not for beginners. I think it is to complicated for Crowton himself. Flynn ran a scaled back version of the Crowton offense that resembled more of the style of offense that Miles ran at OSU. I disagree about Gonzales. I think he will be involved. If all he does is stop Crowton from out-thinking himself, it will be a improvement.

Exactly. There's no "facts" right now, because it depends on how certain players have progressed, how many other school's players have got better or suspended (agentgate

Good post. Agreed!

I do not think the conservative play calling ever ended. That is partly due to JJ lack of being aggressive so they scaled back the offense. I mean looking at it in 08 to 09 it does look like a different offense in the amount of packages/formations that were run. I can not blame Crowton for all of the offensive woes in 09, QB, RB, OL all played a part in that.
Funny everyone talking about the offense improving, if they do (and they should) if the special teams/defense slacks any then you will not see a change in scoreboard. LSU will score more but also allow more points and thus could result in a prettier game with similar results to last year.

Thats the part that worries me the most, Trindon was one of the best in business in returning kicks for average and threat. While we all assume that PP will be incredible in that area, if hes not it could hurt us pretty badly. A good kick returner is worth an extra 5-8 yards average.

Thanks! Good post. I am just looking for some reasons and opinions as to why some feel that LSU will be same or worse.

But you have to remember LSU had one of the best units in neglecting the other teams return yardage. If that changes as well it could give other teams better field position resulting in more scores whether that be a field goal or a touchdown.
