Food for thought: if this is a disaster, why did Aranda stay?

I’ve been disappointed with the O hire since day one, but still like the guy and hope he does well.

The OC situation seems similar, but probably not a surprise to insiders, which Aranda is assuredly one of.

If this is the shite show everybody’s fearing, why not hook the train to Fisher and A&M?

Because he knows he will be the head coach of LSU very soon.

Either he knows 0 will be canned next year and he’ll be the head coach

Or

He knows we’re loaded on d next year to where he’ll still look good regardless of record and still be able to jump ship

Because he knows he's valued more here than at aTm. As far as we value him enough that when we get rid of O, he'll likely be our next head coach.

1) He will be in charge at some point
2) loaded defense next year

Aranda Stayed because:
1. Gives him more credibility with Local High Schools to recruit and develop relationships
2. He will be able to name his price when the Oeaux Dumpster starts

Money. And he's about 12 months away from being one of the most powerful HCs in the country. LSU will pay him whatever to clean up this dumpster fire and he'll have major input on the next AD, pretty smart move to wait it out a year.

He doesn’t need to risk a new defense and he has the inside track to the HC job here

I hope O doesn't start to get paranoid about Aranda taking his job.

$2.5 million

And a likely head coaching job here in 1, 2 years at the most.
