For those who might care:
During WWII there was an Army Air Corp flight school in Baton Rouge. As they polished their flying skills students pilots would buzz (the empty) Tiger stadium. One day one of them clipped the scored board and crashed on the east bank Mississippi levee, killing himself.

When I was in Marine Corps, I served with a Marine Fighter Attack squadron. I remember the pilots would do "cross country" flights over the weekends. They would start getting phone calls on Wednesday or Thursday during football season to do stadium fly overs.

Ken Burn's PBS series on WWII featured an Army pilot from Minnesota who trained in B.R., married a local girl, and went to LSU.

This incident was recalled in the memoir of an ex WWII Army pilot who had trained in B.R. The dead pilot was a friend of his. Sorry but its been 20 years and I don't remember the title of the book. You might be able to find it in a back issue of the Advocate.

Not trying to be a tough guy, just merely pointing out that you're a douche bag!

I am just a big Tiger fan with an opinion. I am already jacked up before the game and dont need to see it to get me more "jacked up".
For the same reason people go to air shows like the Blue Angels. It never gets old. Its bizarre that you would think it adds nothing to the gameday experience.

Yep. That is how my Dad's sister met her husband. He was a student pilot at Harding Field and she was attending LSU at the time. They met, he got sent overseas to fly P-47s in Europe. They married right after the war and are still married.
My Aunt Belle and my Uncle Earl. Now in their 90's. I hope to live as long and as happy a life as they have.

Oh, and for the record, those were Navy T-45 trainers at the Washington game. The T-45 Goshawk, built by McDonnell Douglas.

These guys were based out of Mississippi. Got to talk to them for about twenty minutes after they shook hands with Shaq down on the field.
One of the pilots closed on a house that day, flew over the stadium, got engaged on the helicopter ride from the airport to the stadium, got to go in death valley for the first time and on the field and then had a surprise party for his fiancee waiting on the balcony of Tsunami... He had one epic day!
