I always get a kick out of these "all-time" listings. It often shows how little most fans know about their favorite school. I didn't read the entire posting but I would bet there are a limited number who listed Johnny Robinson on their list of all-time greats. All the guy did was play both ways on a national championship team, earn 1st team All-American honors, be a 1st round draft choice, earn all-pro six times, become the first LSU player to win the NC and the Super Bowl, and be inducted into an NFL teams Hall of Fame.
LSU didn't start playing football in 2000. There are a number of greats who have zero name recognition with a lot of fans. This is not a flame on the younger fans but just an encouragement for them to discover the history of LSU football.

I know who Johnny Robinson is. But seeing as how I was too young to really understand the game of football until early to mid 90s, I think it would be pretty ridiculous to say I guy I never saw play is my favorite Tiger. That doesn't mean I don't know the history of LSU.

You make a good point. Glad to see you have a knowledge of those who played before your time.

Only thing I'd change is putting L. Landry in there somewhere.

Yeah, I would have loved to see guys like Charles Alexander, Bert Jones, Casanova, and of course Billy Cannon play, but I've heard all of the old war stories about those guys.
Even guys like Eric Martin and Dalton Hilliard I only know as Saints, which sucks cause I know like they were great Tigers as well, but its hard to picture them in the purple and goal instead of black and gold.

That I've seen play in my lifetime:
1. Josh Reed
2. Tony Moss (from my childhood)
3. Bradie James / Trev Faulk
4. Rohan Davey
5. LaRon Landry
Honorable Mention: Michael Clayton..what a blue collar player
Chad Jones will move up if he keeps doing what he's doing. He sure is exciting.
